Yep. It's really a nonsense product idea and the kind of thing that nobody wants in any sort of specialized form. I regularly layer Uhe synths with, wait for it, SYNTHS FROM OTHER VENDORS!pdxindy wrote:I voted no...
I have Live which has the racks and is already doing this well...
I woul also rather have Urs spend his time finishing Diva, Bazille and improving Zebra
However, for the comment regarding CPU power, I've found that Vienna Ensemble PRo, and a second computer, of course, really help. I keep my DAW machine fairly light these days and use my other two machines to run VEP templates.

It's all about presets sharing. I layer synths in my DAW too, but I can't send it to you if you don't use the same DAW.
And like I said before, I'd pay to have multi-layer presets by Howard.

You can't share if someone doesn't have this daft idea of a product either. Further the chances that you and someone else would have the same products including this daft idea is even lower.xx JPRacer xx wrote:It's all about presets sharing. It would be possible to share if the product was real. Check Rob Papen Prisma.

Yes, you could share IF they had the product AND the same synths that you do. Just like you can share presets IF they have the same DAW AND the same synths that you do.xx JPRacer xx wrote:It would be possible to share if the product was real. Check Rob Papen Prisma.
Prisma's a dumb product as well. The reason that it's a dumbass idea is that anyone with an ounce of sense isn't going to buy a product that's fixed to one manufacturer when there's no reason to. That's why Prisma is free now, because nobody bought the damn thing.
There are a half dozen competing products that aren't fixed to any particular vendor that solve this problem if you really need it. MuLab's Mux, Blue Cat's patchworx, Plogue Bidule, and a whole bunch more. The chance that someone has all the things that you put into a layer and the layering tool, however, is very low.
The most successful idea like this has to be the Reason combinator up to Reason 5. Beyond that, it made no sense in terms of sharing than these products do.

Prisma was always free. And like Prisma, u-layer (or whatever) would only load u-he synths and would be free too. Could even load "player" version of the synth for people that don't have the full version. That would solve the problem of "The chance that someone has all the things that you put into a layer and the layering tool, however, is very low."
Anyway, judging from what Urs said in other posts the chance of seeing a product like this is almost null so I'm not debating this anymore.

Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Yes, i already have that one and except for small bugs it's really good. But we'll never see multi-layered patches from Howard on that one and fro presets sharing there's the problem that ghettosynth said: "The chance that someone has all the things that you put into a layer and the layering tool, however, is very low."

Voted yes, even tho i can have this in FL Studio, it would be cool to have Uhe products only focused rack based plugin. Something like Synth Squad had years ago or Rob Papen has.
