Hi all, hard drive finally BSOD'ed for the last time and I transferred file's from it to a new 1T HDD installed in my Dell Vostro 430, Windows 7 Professional, 4g. 1T HDD via a Wavlink USB 3.0 Dual Bay Docking Station. I found T-2,opened it in demo mode and it's the license style unlock version. Over at my.mackie.com it doesn't seem to archive T-2 purchase's that far back. I'm a little dim right now and convalescing due to a rear-end accident so apologies if the answer is obvious. Thanks! Room Temp
All the thing's I've learned up till now I know.

Mackie no longer has anything to do with Tracktion/Waveform and they left it for dead several years ago, before Julian Storer and friends formed a new company and rescued it. After that, a rebadged and slightly tweaked version was released as version 4. Earlier versions cannot be resurrected. That said, the version (current - 2) has been released for free in recent years, so you should be able to download and run Tracktion 6. The database of users SHOULD include whatever details you have from your T2 purchase, so you ought to be able to sign in at www.tracktion.com, although you might need to get it to remind you of your password (as long as you can remember what email address you used on My Mackie). On the other hand, you could just start again as a new user, for which you'll need to set up an account on that site.
After Tracktion 7, it was decided to rename the DAW to distinguish it from the company name, so we currently have Waveform 8. New versions are released annually around February/March.
T6 and subsequent versions WILL be able to open all your old projects.

Hi rosesbyrosex, thanks for the reply. What do you mean by "It should be able to open T2 projects"?

If you install T6 (now free) you should be able to load previous projects you had used in T2. Note once you work on them, though, those projects probably can't be opened again in T2 you may have on another computer...
Just open and browse to the folder where you stored your previous project files, and open. Note that you should have the plugins installed that you need for that project, or you will have to select them again (or find alternatives). Oh, make sure you use T6 32-bit if you want to use the same old 32-bit plugins.

Tracktion software is backward compatible, it means that with T6 you can open projects from T5, T4, T3...but T2 may be not suppported anymore on T6 (Because it's too old), but this is only a supposition, you should try to open in T6.Room Temp' chi wrote:Hi rosesbyrosex, thanks for the reply. Anyway if T6 don´t open T2 file, you can download T4 demo from the tracktion website or i send you a link for T4 installer, then open the T2 file in T4 and save, your project will be updated to T4 version, and then open in T6
