I was hoping to do some interesting modulation of breakpoints in freeform phase inside MXXX but it doesn't show up in the available modules.

I did ask Vojtech about this before and I have a feeling he didn't like the idea of people attempting to do realtime modification of the phase settings... but for sound design it creates some pretty unique sounds.

Did you try parameter automation in a DAW to see how the plugin reacts?

Ha! It's not there indeed, should be :). In the future ;). Anyways the automation would indeed be a bit of a problem probably, we'll see.

Oh but modulating it sounds so good... you can do some really interesting, but still subtle, filter sweep type sounds without creating the super strong resonances of filter sweeps.
