The noise is coming from Velvet - tape hiss.

Edit - you'd already worked it out.

Super nice! Feels much more fluent here on macos now. I have a request: Is it possible to write the column number into the slider element, using a small font? E.g. if there are 4 columns, in the middle of the slider was printed "1/3", "2/3", "3/3"... (without the last column) I am still confused by the slider, esp. if I want to refind a specific preset and I need to scroll  Writing the current/max column would help to navigate IMO. I think this also happens, because it always only scrolls by one column, and I would expect 2? I don't know why this happens, but any time I use the scroller it really causes some kind of sickness, my brain seems not to be made for this kind of scroller :clown:

Great and good to see an improved multi-thread/multi-core handling :tu:

yes it was indeed a 'duh' moment :-)
wish it did have an automute like satin though.
I can sure do without the extra noise when nothing is playing :-)

Some presets use a None option in Velvet that doesn't seem to be in the drop down menu... (maybe it existed in beta when the patches were being made) these are the ones that seem to be the noisiest.

There's your answer.
HI ED, I know you are on PC, are you on SSD as your C drive? if not what type of update database times are you getting?
rsp
Yep, I have a very fast M.2 SSD as my OS drive... Database update times are instant :)

Maybe some macro to convert none to Default?

There's a parameter in the presets called "hssmute" that does just that, if set to 1. One would have to write a script that changes the parameter in all presets, going through all of them manually with a text editor would be too much work for 900+ presets, I guess. :)

oh no, not all.
my theory was there is a none option that seems not to be available by the drop down menu, so I assumed it was in an earlier beta available when these patches were created but removed from this RC, so I was suggesting that a macro be written to convert those properly, with the assumption they weren't which is a big assumption I know :-)

Will look for the hssmute that you mention.

Is this available to us?
I couldn't find the hssmute.

You need to open the Velvet preset file in a text editor.

That seemed to have worked (for all except those that say none for preset)......I will keep a copy handy as I am sure the next update will rewrite them.

Seems like some presets used a previous noise fuzz preset, since those seem immunte to auto mute.. however if I then choose noise fuzz (even though they show that they are using noise fuzz) they behave properly.
I of course can save them with this new noise fuzz, but I imagine at the next update they will undo.

examples:
Noise Fuzz:
Keys Synth AZ Clear Blue
Pads Orchestral JH Strings Expressivo
JH Midrange Stab
RCH Digicord

And with some previous Tape Light
Keys Synth HS Faded Glory
TUC Pizzicato

Wreckording
PH Noisy Brass

Buzzer:
Bellina

Thank you, U-He team. CPU draw does indeed seem to be lower and 900 presets...everyone has been quite busy!

In my case it feels just like the opposite.

Many 8 voice patches cause crackles here with a single note played.
Multi Core on/off doesn´t have a large impact.
