Yep, it's an annoying bug, sorry for that. It's already on our radar, and on the list of things to fix for the next update.

Funkybot's Evil Twin wrote:Another question (maybe a bug, maybe a feature request): is Ctrl+Clicking to select non-continous presets int he browser supposed to work?
It's CMD-click on Mac, and due to some unfortunate events, it's currently Alt-click on Windows.
It's supposed to be Ctrl-click on Windows, but we recently (actually, it was yesterday) discovered that there is a weird bug in our framework which makes it use the Alt-key instead of Ctrl.
Good to know. Thanks!

Works really nicely now I think, congrats to all. IMO there's more rationalisation do be done but its very serviceable as it is now I think with one exception - yes, that duplication of the category name as a subcategory is still verrrry odd.

My question is this - why would anyone want to search for a Bass But Without Any Other Subcategory Tags Attached? I genuinely can't think of a real world use for that. Just ditch it, imo. It will forever confuse people as it is, and you guys will be answering the same question forever...

If it absolutely MUST be there, then how about always putting it at the end of the subcategories and calling it Other?

Tbh I usually just search by category...
on many synths.

Ooop... spoke too soon. Surely this isn't intended behaviour - pressing RESTORE makes all tag selections unresponsive. I can't get it back to normal behaviour at all.

Me too. I think what he's getting at though is that usually when you search that way you just don't select a sub category (ie. include all sub categories). Whereas it's a bit strange to say I want bass and specifically want a bass sub category that doesn't fall into the other sub categories. Or rather then actual categorization itself is strange. But I notice that these seem to be empty. Bass/Bass for example has nothing in it.

I only just realized that you can build a search with multiple tag though. So I could say I'm looking for pads/acoustic and leads/bowed for example, which I can see the use for. Now I understand the use for the "Any" tag, so you can build search criteria for multiple categories like Pads/Any and leads/bowed for example. Is there a way to do that now that Any has been removed? Or is that what the Pads sub category of pads would be for (except it's empty now).

I think the default showing all sub categories is good. But I can see the use in being able to select a sub category to keep all of them included in a multi tag search.

But a battle for another day.

I still find it very weird that Brass is a sub-category of Leads and [admittedly less so] that Strings are a sub-category of Pads. Not trying to relitigate any categorization debates before the official release :scared: but maybe something that can be revisited later on.

I haven't used the restore button......what doe sit do?
But I have 10.12.6 and also cubase 9 something.

edit: checked the manual but I don't have 9.0.10
I long moved on to 9.0.30 and 9.5

and on 9.0.30 restore instantly moves back to my starting preset.

Yes, there is a way, on Mac use Cmd-click to select multiple main categories at the same time. On Windows it's Alt-click at the moment. This stuff should be explained in the manual, maybe it's a good idea to read the parts about the browser, Howard has put a lot of effort into it.

No, if you want to show all the Pads at once, you just select the Pads main category. The sub-category called Pads will show you only the Pads for which no sub-category has been assigned. Since all factory presets have sub-categories assigned, this one will show no results.

Hmm, very odd zvenx - so once restored, you can use tags normally? I can recreate this fault by just opening the browser at launch, muck around and then press Restore, and from that point pressing any tags has zero effect. I have to delete the instance to get the functionality back.

This sounds very weird, never had anything like this happen over here. Did you try restarting Cubase and loading a new instance of the plugin? Does this still happen then? And does it happen every time you try it? Or was it a one-time thing? And what does 'tag selections unresponsive' mean exactly? Nothing happens if you click on the tags in the tag view? Does everything else still work or does the whole plugin not respond anymore?

Thought uploading a video might be easiest, tasmaniandevil. I'm getting it on Windows too, so this is Windows 10, Cubase 9.0.20.

Once restored, nothing I do in selecting tags makes any difference to the tag results.
