Okay, fair enough. Let's talk about the hints and help first.elassi wrote:Buddy, mate, pal, ... why not learn to accept and process hints & help rather than to fundamentally reject them because of a false understanding of self-confidence? Please point out where this was. I must have missed it.
As for self confidence, my first Softube library, which was pretty much weird shit, is my best selling library by a mile.
So believe it or not, there's a market out there for this weirdness.
But thank you for truly trying to help me.

You know (and by this post all other KVRians know) that I've invited you to the "Unlocked thread" to explain your position. Unfortunately it was locked - see the irony. Nonetheless you answered by PM. Good move.
Let's try this again.
Not here, in the 'Instrument-Forum' that is, because it does not belong here.
Still dig your will to talk about it.

You'll have to forgive my stupidity but I have no idea what you're talking about. What does what happened with the locked thread have to do with my Softube Modular video and the comments made about how bad they are (if I got the gist right)?elassi wrote:You know (and by this post all other KVRians know) that I've invited you to the "Unlocked thread" to explain your position. If your issue is that a video showing the Buchale 259e doesn't belong here, we've already been down that road with the mods. I could point you to the relevant threads but I don't remember where they are and I'm not going to rehash the whole "videos and audios are allowed to be posted here" argument. Like I've said to everybody else, if you have a problem with it, take it up with the mods.
But then you better also be prepared to take it up with Simon and everybody else who posts videos and audios here (Please see Falcon and HALion threads for examples)
Bottom Line: I've done nothing wrong here and won't apologize for anything I've done. Now, if that's not it and it's simply about the quality of what I posted, I won't apologize for that either. Like I said, Softube is my best selling library so obviously there is a market for the crap that I make.
Now, if there's something else you'd like to discuss, I'm all ears.

Some more fart noises for you guys to cringe at.
In the meantime, I'm searching for the mod's post that was made about 2 years ago allowing the posting of videos and audios in this sub forum as long as there were no posts with direct sales page links.
If the mod who made that post knows what I'm referring to, if you could link to it, I'll bookmark it and the next time this conversation comes up I can just post the link and that'll end all this nonsense.

Yeah, that's one of the reasons I started experimenting with Reaktor and Modular working together. If you happen to have both plugins it's pretty incredible what you can do routing sequencer CV to the VSTfx version of Modular. Once VCV rack releases a VST/AU plugin my social life is out the window. That or my brain will explode.deastman wrote:What I like about both Modular and VCV is that they give me a low-cost way of exploring some modules I wouldn’t have otherwise bought for my hardware modular.Urs wrote:I have the strange circumstance to be head of a company that buys whatever module I want, with employees who put anything I come up with on ModularGrid into a case. My biggest point of critique in Modular was the absence of a West Coast function generator. I'd still miss a proper sequencer with ratcheting and CV control and something like Elements or Rings to be happy.wagtunes wrote:Not that my opinion means anything, but I am having a blast with this thing. It is so addicting that I'm getting very little else done, which is not good.Urs wrote:4ms PEG? Modular gets to the point where I might find it tempting
I’ve been griping about the lack of a full-featured sequencer since day one. I mean, it would only take them a day or two to implement the lacking functionality into one of the existing sequencer modules...

100% agree with you republik,
you should perhaps try SoloRack, perhaps it will fit too, is cpu is near zero and it have some really nice module to complement with the other modular synth.
my brain have already explode:)
if you add in you daw some dc modulation, seq, a new world is open, and it"s easy to do in any daw...

That's who you mean isn't it Wagtunes?
If so you make a good point.

Yes, that's who I mean. And let's get something straight. Simon Stockhausen?

Why?
Because the guy is super talented. His videos are so informative and creative. I'd have to be reborn 100 times over to be able to touch his shoes. If I was the type of person who bought sound libraries, I'd probably buy everything he ever came out with.
But talent doesn't give you free reign around here UNLESS the mods say it's okay. And they did. I was the one who specifically brought it up when I was raked over the coals by the members here for posting a Synth X (forget which one) video in a Synth X thread while, at the same time, a Falcon thread was going on where Simon had to have posted at least a half dozen videos and/or audios. I don't remember how many I watched or listened to but I know it was at least one if for no other reason than I was new to Falcon and needed all the help I could get with it.
But I digress. So I got raked over the coals and was actually contacted by a mod telling me that we don't do these things in this sub forum and my post was deleted or moved somewhere else. Don't remember which. At that point, I directed the mod to the Falcon thread and other threads and let him know what was going on there. After it was learned that this sort of thing was running rampant around here, a decision was made to allow the posting of videos and Soundcloud links as long as no sales links followed or were included. That was the condition. I have abide'd by that condition always.
But still, we have the double standard around here as far as the other members are concerned. They're cool with Simon and other people posting their videos and Soundcloud links. They're just not cool with me doing it.
And yeah, there are people who aren't cool with anybody doing it. But they don't run this forum. The mods do. And that's who I listen to. Not the people here who despise the ground I walk on.
It used to bother me a lot. Now I just let it roll off my back. That's why I've posted my videos in this thread without any concern about what anybody thought. They're gonna hate me either way, so what's the difference?
Anyway, I hope that explains some of the history and why I don't care if people want to complain about me.

You didn't start the fire Wagtunes - Relax
That said you didn't have the best mentors.
If I Google your name, I have to be honest dirt soon appears on you.
Simon Stockhausen? Very little negativity.
Until I look through the threads, the history of Kvr and Simon Stockhausen.
Those endless "guess the Synth" threads that made history at Kvr and produced this pathetic situation.
A situation that forced Kvr to make a rule.
The Stockhausen name used to be cool.
Now I associate that name with Spam.
Fight your corner!!!!

I learn a lot from Simon's videos. His sounds are always interesting, he shows what he is doing, his libraries include information on how he made the patches and how to best play them. I buy presets only to learn useful techniques, and his are masterclasses.
