Yeah... Pro is significantly more advanced than I expected. I only knew about the Analyzer when I purchased it!

I see you gave in! :)

I'm a little pissed off because it seems that installing the new version has erased the 3 presets I've created with the previous one.

But I'm nevertheless very happy because it's a damn good plugin !

The plugin crashes in Bitwig. Reload the plugin from Bitwig and it works, but if I try to open the GUI, crashes again. Happens every time. Sent email to support.

Same in Ableton 9 and Cubase 9.5.

Morphing plugin synths are always interesting, but very rarely good. Unless you have a Kyma system. Alchemy's probably the best so far and still, it's not always efficient at morphing and the results are often random and inconsistent. Hit or miss most of the time.

From what I've heard in this thread with Infinite, everything sounds very belly-like and glassy, very ambient & soundscaphish. Like a bunch of sounds all melted and clumped together. Not saying the synth sounds bad (it sounds rather good and pleasing in fact) but I don't really hear true convincing morphing here. Can it really perform straight forward morphing, like let's say a simple cymbal sound into meow cat or a flute? A simple from A to B morph?

There’s a demo of the morphing on the PPG website.

If you mean a Trial version, that won't be released earlier than January.

So not possible to test it within the intro price period :(

Okay, I am not criticizing or complaining. Just making an observation and also a little curious.

I wonder how many sales they're going to lose because of people afraid to take a chance on purchasing without at least being able to find out if it works on their system or not first?

I mean think about it. In US currency, it's about $150. That isn't a small amount of money to just say "Oh well, it doesn't work. I guess I'm out $150." I don't know how many people would be willing to take that chance.

When the demo finally comes out and they CAN test it, the price will be about $40 more or close to $200. How many people are going to ultimately say "Too rich for my blood. They could have had a sale if only I could have tested it first, but, oh well."

This is a valid question when you're talking about this amount of money and the no refund policy is clearly stated.

Not only does it make me wonder how many sales they're going to lose but also makes me wonder if this isn't a deliberate attempt to cut down on the number of sales so that they have fewer people to deal with as far as support requests.

I am not a Wolfgang Palm PPG hater. I purchased both Wavemapper 2 and Wavegenerator. But I was able to demo them both first and they weren't that expensive. I got Wavemapper 2 for $113 and Wavegenerator for $117. Neither was on sale but still cheaper than Infinite even with Infinite's intro price. Paying almost double for a synth without being able to at least see if it works is quite risky.

And finally, all the people who are going to ultimately crucify me for this post (because you know that's coming) I wonder how many of them either...

1) Got the software for free because they're a beta tester

or

2) Have so much money to burn that losing $150 is peanuts for them should the synth not work

For some of us poor folks, it's not so easy to take that kind of leap of faith.

So again, I gotta wonder. How much money is PPG losing because of this policy?

Obviously nobody knows including PPG but it does make one wonder.

Well, at least it makes me wonder.

Haven't bought a new synth in almost two years but am certain this will be my next buy.
The only "downfall" im finding so far is that in order to import custom waveforms or wavetables i will also need to purchase WaveGenerator and or WaveMapper. (?) Still looking into it. Could be blind.

Hoping to see some videos from Simon for this as well.

from what i understand, no need to purchase wavegen or wavemapper, you have different algo, fix pitch, non fix, 6 if i remember for importing Wt, you can download the manual on the ppg site. a lot of great tut are here too.
i will wait the demo version before purchase it, i would like to know how will be the Ui size on a 4 k monitor and if it will fill my need. it seams to be a really nice synth with some unique features, i"m not a fan of the ppg workflow in general but Mr Palm have a unique vision.

You can import any wav sample, both as a resource for the oscillator as well as the Noiser. Then you can export filter shapes for the Infinite/Molder-filter from Phonem which yields great results, so the combo of Phonem and Infinite is perfect.

So I have the iPad version, is the desktop version that different?
