But still, we have the double standard around here as far as the other members are concerned. They're cool with Simon and other people posting their videos and Soundcloud links. They're just not cool with me doing it.

And yeah, there are people who aren't cool with anybody doing it. But they don't run this forum. The mods do. And that's who I listen to. Not the people here who despise the ground I walk on.

It used to bother me a lot. Now I just let it roll off my back. That's why I've posted my videos in this thread without any concern about what anybody thought. They're gonna hate me either way, so what's the difference?

Anyway, I hope that explains some of the history and why I don't care if people want to complain about me.

I'll illustrate exactly what you are doing.
You are a person who can't sing. You keep singing on the street and everyone is telling your to shut up.
You keep ignoring it, you don't give a shit.
You want to sing and scream into people's faces and you want everyone to tolerate your lack of talent or knowledge. People don't give a shit who you are, the only thing they know is that you are acting like a moron and that's why they treat you like you are a moron.

But better than that, in thrills me to no end how I infuriate YOU so much. To bring out that kind of hatred I must really get under your skin. And that couldn't make me happier.

And the best part is, regardless of how lacking in talent I am, I have the same rights in this forum as every other member. So crap or not, I am just as entitled to post MY videos as Simon is to post HIS.

The more musical aspect of the synth reminds me a bit of Poly-Ana, which is nice. Actually one of my favourite analog sounding VA synths ever, not fully modular but nonetheless very capable at for me enough modulation sources of parameter destinations to keep it interesting. Shamefully overlooked here though, probably because of the GUI (although there are alternative skins available).

The Poly-Ana GUI is what kept me from getting it. Even the alternate skins didn't make using it much easier. Just too much on one screen for my eyes.

How does the Aalto Buchla module compare to the Softube? I'm assuming the Aalto actually has one, otherwise I don't see the relevance in this thread.

Yeah, I did a few experiments with the Buchla module (see other video's in the thread). The reason I poster this video:
1) I was wondering if I could get simular sounds out of the Aalto
2) I wanted to see if I could use these noises in a musical way (as some make this distinction in this thread)

BTW, Aalto is a Buchla inspired synth (including the complex oscillator). Sounds very analog.
