Thanks pekbro (and ericzang and TC).pekbro wrote:I like the tape stop, bit crusher and the trance gate quite a lot. The gate has got to be one of the easiest rhythmic gates to use ever. The bit crusher is great sounding imho and the tape stop is just cool, as tape stops tend to be.
Other than that, phase distortion, the pitch and freq shifters are very nice. I dunno, I have them all and find them all to be very good.

*if you're going to be using them as snapins, definitely gonna want to grab the basic filter as its not included for free. Its likely to be the basis of a lot of stuff.

Does anybody know if GForce ever do sales?
And when yes: which time of the year and what rebates?
Cheers!

I have seen sales on JRR shop on various products but nothing at their store. Maybe Uncle can chime in and let us know what we can expect.

Very few (years between them) and at random dates. Usually just one product at a time. Can't remember the rebates.martinjuenke wrote:Does anybody know if GForce ever do sales?

I got Tapestop which I've had my eye on for awhile and the 'Ladder Filter' - hoping for some interesting/unique sounds out of that one. Thinking about the Trance Gate too. Can't comment on them as the licenses haven't arrived yet. They have a few free Snapins in the lineup and I'm generally impression with them.. very low CPU, functional and userfriendly.Fleer wrote:Which ones did you get or do people recommend?MogwaiBoy wrote:I got a couple of Kilohearts $9 singles last Wednesday but they haven't been delivered yet.
I have Faturator, Disperser and kHs One already - would be good to see them offer some upgrade options.

Yeah, I'm thinking specific sound scaring fx snapins are the way to go here, compared to the more generic ones like compressor or reverb. Reminding me of that wonderful SonicCharge Echobode. Still, wondering if Tape Stop wouldn't end up being a one trick pony I'll never ride on. Transient Shaper seems interestingly quirky though.

Since you brought it up...Fleer wrote:Yeah, I'm thinking specific sound scaring fx snapins are the way to go here,
Do you or anyone else have any thoughts about or experience with Garbage LSD? (jokes accepted!)
It looks like Dmitry Sches' star is on the rise. Users of Tantra and his new Thorn synth seem pretty happy. Could Garbage LSD be a sleeper?

Bought it in a previous sale for similar price, it's much more limited than Tantra, both in terms of modulation sources and destinations and the fx (just checked and although it has two sets of LFOs and envelopes, those two combine to create Mod Source 1 and 2, so it only really has two onboard mod sources). Remember the filters being pretty good, distortion and bit-crushing fairly nondescript, never got much use out of the convolution, ring and amplitude modulation if you use those much, and there's an old school radio compressor and EQ if you like that sort of thing.telecharge wrote:Since you brought it up...Fleer wrote:Yeah, I'm thinking specific sound scaring fx snapins are the way to go here,

Hard pushed to think of a point where something else wouldn't suffice.

Any thoughts on Duende Drum strip that just got temporarily knocked down to 15 bucks? Does it really excel in any of its features, or is mostly a "pretty good" collection of tools bundled for convenience?

It's about 10 years old and had good reviews back then, so if you dont have anything similar it might not be worth looking at, though no doubt will be easy on the CPU due to its ageJopn wrote:Any thoughts on Duende Drum strip that just got temporarily knocked down to 15 bucks? That is borderline ageism.VariKusBrainZ wrote:It's about 10 years old and had good reviews back then, so if you dont have anything similar it might not be worth looking at, though no doubt will be easy on the CPU due to its age
