What is the "correct"/best wa to organize presets into the preset folders of Zebra?

When installing Zebra2 or ZebraHZ they both create preset subfolders for Zebra2, Zebralette, ZebraHZ, Zebrify.
I'd like ZebraHZ and Zebra2 to be able to both access the presets from a single folder structure.

That's already done for you, there's a link to Zebra preset folders in ZHZ preset folder. You can add a similar link to have Zebralette presets openable in Zebra/ZHZ. Like so:

In other words, don't touch those folders that get created during installation, they are necessary for each plugin to show their preset lists correctly.

Ok, so those folders in the ZHZ directory are actually links and not separate folders.

I was getting by with symlinking, but that's essentially done for me it seems

Yeah, no need to symlink, u-he plugins understand regular shortcuts.

Sorry for the off-topic, but ED, which Zebra skin is that? Or is it 2.8?

Cheers

Concerning Windows:
I should update this for our new browser, as simple shortcuts won't work in our new browser currently.
For the new browser (see current Zebra2.8 or Diva 1.4.3) you need to create symlinks on Windows.
I'll give you an example:

Run the command prompt from your Windows start menu as administrator, then use the mklink command like this:

mklink /D "target_destination_for_symlink" "source_path_that_is_linked_to"

I use quotation marks around the paths because my paths contain spaces.
So let's say I have extra Zebra2 presets in here:
D:\TESTPRESETS

And let's say that I want a symlink that refers to that path to appear in my Zebra2 factory library.
And let's say my original Zebra2 factory library is here:
C:\Users\*MY USERNAME*\Documents\u-he\Zebra2.data\Presets\Zebra2\

Then the actual command I'd use is (replace *MY USERNAME* with your actual username for Windows):

mklink /D "C:\Users\*MY USERNAME*\Documents\u-he\Zebra2.data\Presets\Zebra2\TESTPRESETS" "D:\TESTPRESETS"

So after [mklink /D] I put the target destination where I want my symlink to appear (and as what it should be called there), and after that I put the path of where the actual folder is that contains my extra presets.

I'll end up with a folder named "TESTPRESETS" in my Zebra2 factory library that shows the presets from my D:\TESTPRESETS folder. I can also rename that new symlink in my Zebra2 factory library if I want (or use a different target name in the mklink command already).

All clear? ;)

Or just use this much simpler (free!) tool: http://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshel ... nsion.html

Any reason why regular links aren't working anymore? Just curious.

Ah, will have to try that!

Is it a good idea for Zebra HZ to link internally to Zebra 2 presets now Zebra 2 has been updated though? I thought that could lead to instability until they are both in sync again so I temporarily removed mine.

Only very few patches in the factory Zeebs library use the new features. For all others ZHZ is still fine, and will continue to be fine.
