b.t.w.:
this makes me remembering the problem I had with a puter of a friend of mine:
The drivers wouldn't recognize this damned soundcard - I tried to install the drivers again and again - still nothing - I tried to install another soundcard - still thesame problem - I thought there was something wrong with the installation of the OS (which I did previously) and installed it again.
In the end we found out that there was something wrong with the cheap crappy case - as soon as we were fixing the soundcard with the screw one end of the card slipped slightly out of the slot. - We had to put pressure on the case while turning the screw and everything was fine.

Nope, not a drop. The only place for the computers in this room is right in front of the door. It was dark, and I was carrying two heavy bags. I was knackered after a 2 1/2 hour bus journey. Got up 4 flights of stairs, got in, went to drop my bags in my room and...
sigh.

An idiot on Set Theory:
"In some cases there is an object called red that contains everything that is red. In much the same way a pot is a plate."

Heh...I've got a wonky MIDI cord that doesn't quite make the connection...so if my kid has been muddling around behind the keyboard, it pulls out/down just enough...
Visual inspection shows that the cord is in place, but nothing works! After a few troublshooting sessions I finally caught on, and now I reseat the thing regularly...

My turn ...
Next time you decide to replace the P4 2.4 with a P4 3.0, make sure your motherboard abilities does not top out with a P4 2.8. On top of that, the old chip was glued to the fan and was damaged when I took it out. So now my DAW is down and instead of the Tassman upgrade I will be purchasing a new P4, ... again.
It reminds me of a Dilbert cartoon I have on the wall in my office. "I replaced a part in your computer. If it sill worked it would be a lot faster."

note to self..
when troubleshooting your jk audio innkeeper (digital hybrid telephone interface -- for broadcasting telephone calls)... don't push the test tone button while you have headphones on.
I don't know why I keep doing that.... it's about 5 times now, but every time I'm working on the box, I run through the buttons and hit that one by accident...
