I keep telling myself that I'm going to use these kinds of libraries more, but then, I don't use the ones that I have that were either free or came with bundled products, so I just say no.shonky wrote:Looking at VST buzz deal on Aria Sounds' Orchestral Bundle, seems a lot of content for 99 Euros but no brass section and the woodwind appears to be only Xiao flute and Bansuri so might be orchestral but hardly an orchestra.
Plus I'm not really sure I'd use it enought to justify getting it, for my orchestral needs (background to synths and samples and probably ultra-processed before use), I'm pretty sure I could get away with using the Kontakt and Komplete factory libraries.
Still, looks like a good deal for those that have hard drive capacity to spare.

I agree entirely, and think it's a good check before bargain-head trumps actual utility brain in the war on GAS.ghettosynth wrote:I keep telling myself that I'm going to use these kinds of libraries more, but then, I don't use the ones that I have that were either free or came with bundled products, so I just say no.shonky wrote:Looking at VST buzz deal on Aria Sounds' Orchestral Bundle, seems a lot of content for 99 Euros but no brass section and the woodwind appears to be only Xiao flute and Bansuri so might be orchestral but hardly an orchestra.

Having said this, I'm sorely tempted by Hideaway Studios Blue Zone collection for 50% off at Kontakt Hub, which although rather lovely sounding is again possibly not something I'd use in my own music that much. Demos do sound good though

See, now I have to part with eleven pounds. I'd make three albums out of that in a weekend.shonky wrote:I agree entirely, and think it's a good check before bargain-head trumps actual utility brain in the war on GAS.ghettosynth wrote:I keep telling myself that I'm going to use these kinds of libraries more, but then, I don't use the ones that I have that were either free or came with bundled products, so I just say no.shonky wrote:Looking at VST buzz deal on Aria Sounds' Orchestral Bundle, seems a lot of content for 99 Euros but no brass section and the woodwind appears to be only Xiao flute and Bansuri so might be orchestral but hardly an orchestra.

Buy the Polivox and chose 2 for free. You have to email them after the purchase.ghettosynth wrote:See, now I have to part with eleven pounds. I'm not sure what you're suggesting, but, the Polivoks is not the kind of thing that interests me at all.kitekrazy wrote:Buy the Polivox and chose 2 for free. These are quite well done instruments certainly worth the VSTBuzz price, but Aria Sounds does not have a full orchestra on offer yet. In terms of woodwinds they only have some rather eclectic instruments (included) and in terms of brass they only have the french horn (not included) in their portfolio.shonky wrote:Looking at VST buzz deal on Aria Sounds' Orchestral Bundle, seems a lot of content for 99 Euros but no brass section and the woodwind appears to be only Xiao flute and Bansuri so might be orchestral but hardly an orchestra.

The solo strings are really good but they have been on VSTBuzz offer before, so most people that would be interested in those probably already have them. The full symphonic string orchestra does not really convince me to be honest. I think that there are much better libraries out there. But it might just be that the demo videos are not particularly well done.
But if you do not have a good string library yet (assuming these people actually exist), this is something to look into.
I would actually be interested in their Aurora Choir as I do not have any good choir yet. Since they seem to use VSTBuzz once a while I have a certain hope that this will pop up there eventually.

Aurora was already at VSTBuzz (or was it PluginDiscounts?). It's very good, maybe they'll make it available again.mgw38 wrote:These are quite well done instruments certainly worth the VSTBuzz price, but Aria Sounds does not have a full orchestra on offer yet. Ah, yes, I remember. For some reason I did not pick it up back then. Probably exeeded my budget. It will come around in some form eventually.JerGoertz wrote:Aurora was already at VSTBuzz (or was it PluginDiscounts?). It's very good, maybe they'll make it available again.

Maybe, maybe not. I picked it up but it doesn't use iLok. However, in the process of registering it, since you have to create yet another damned account, I realized that you get the original pianoverb for free just for doing so.dzilizzi wrote:Okay, I have to recommend the pianoverb2 if you use pianos. I was comparing some of my pianos a few months ago, trying to decide whether to buy something that was on sale, and they all sounded bad. We are talking QL platinum pianos, Imperfect Samples Walnut, and NI pianos to name a few. Then I remembered I had the PSP Pianoverb2. Just a very light piano string reverb. They all sounded so much better. Totally worth $19Uncle E wrote:Up to 70% off all PSP reverbs:

PSP 2445 EMT Reverb $69
PSP EasyVerb $29
PSP Nexcellence Spring Reverb $69
PSP PianoVerb2 $19
PSP SpringBox Reverb $29
It's a cool enough reverb, but if I'm honest I don't think that the marginal value over the freebie is worth even the sale price. Had I known that the original pianoverb was free when you create an account and that they don't use iLok for that product, I doubt that I would have purchased pianoverb 2.
On the good side, it's just a simple registry edit for protection so there's nothing to lose really should something happen to your PC.
