(insert mystery tune here) So, how come does it work fine in Bitwig 2.2.2 and 2.2.3 here to the point that I have now done several improvisations each with several Repro-5 instances (tracks) along with other synths ?abique wrote:Bitwig Studio 2.2.3 is not calling effIdle() on Linux. I'll repeat myself again, that will work fine with the next *MAJOR* update of Bitwig Studio, 2.2.3 was a minor update.

Also both Repro 1 and 5 are resizing just fine.mevla wrote:I already described the system a few replies back, although there were no hardware specs. Here they are:ejgallego wrote:Mevla, care to post what your system specifications are?
It seems the problem we are having could be that the new version runs laggy in systems that don't have a super-powerful CPU.

Of course, I could replace that mystery tune by one of the improvisations I made using several Repro-5 (and 1) on Bitwig, although I do not feel they are up for publishing at the momentabique wrote:(insert mystery tune here)

In any case, to reiterate, if you need any library listing or any other information from the system I am running, please feel free to ask.

I noticed that knobs can be a bit 'latent' when moving them quickly with the mouse. So I use the scroll wheel instead. As Alex said regarding the use on Renoise, nothing major that prevents using the synths. And this is what I mostly do: browsing and playing existing sounds. I do not create sounds or otherwise twist the knobs extensively. The resizing of the GUI works quickly, no latency there.ejgallego wrote:It seems the problem we are having could be that the new version runs laggy in systems that don't have a super-powerful CPU.

So far from the descriptions the problem seems to be OS-wide and not contained within a DAW. Eg. that Bitwig does not issue a certain call seems to be irrelevant.
Anyone with such problems care to install Linux Mint 18 (KDE version) as dual boot, and give it a try ? Linux Mint installs itself without any hassle, just a few basic questions. It will preserve existing systems and offer them as options at boot.
P.S.: I am not preaching for OS conversion !

Hello,
thank you abique for all the effort you put into the Linux ports!
I am using Bitwig Studio 2.2.3 with Ubuntu 17.04 and the VST2 Version of Repro 5 is running far better with version 6821 (the settings menu has the longest lag still remaining). I am struggling to activate the demo with my license. I haven't been able to get into any activation menu.
Is there an alternative method like writing into some preference file or a console command? Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Hello I have startet Bitwig 2.2.3 in my console. This is what I get. Seems the Repro Plugin causes some trouble.
Hope this is useful for finding the error.
Much appreciated

Thanks for your reply abique. I can't see many information in the engine.log.
But I guess I found the error, when I type in the ldd command
libxcb-util.so.1 => not found
I have only libxcb-util.so.0

% dpkg -l | grep libxcb-util
ii libxcb-util1:amd64 0.4.0-0ubuntu3
But then, libxcb.so.1 is also used by ACE, Bazille, Zebra2, .... are all these also not working well ?

I guess the other plugins are using libxbc.so.1 but not libxbc-util.so1.
This library is new.
looks like this compared to hive for example
I have only this library
libxcb-util0/stable,now 0.3.8-3+b2 amd64 [installed,automatic]
too old? i need 0.4?
