Hello all, hope you're doing good, it just came to me that i'd love to be able to name eq bands (in eq plugs) -hopefully in a way that doesn't much interfere with screen real-estate-, i think it could make for sturdier preset making and potentially a faster more customized workflow...
just thought i'd mention the idea. things work just fine as they are, but i have a feeling my brain would love it.

Why would you name them? What would you name them?
I can't (yet) wrap my head around this one without answers...and part of me is picturing an eq band as a pet and calling it by name out the window!

hey werzel
,
. using it as preset support, (ie 'bass 3rd harmonic dip'/ 'kick click' etc) for things you do again and again,
.way to standardise some eq topologies fast through zeroed presets without going to the bands area all the time (HP/LP/etc),
.way to keep things clean even if you started with 3peaks and then decided on a HP that you might want to be the first on the chain just to be organized)
.handy way of keeping shorthand notes (when 10 notches i'd like to automatically see which one was done for which instrument)
and generally various little ditties like that

OK, I see.
MNotepad doesn't get much love, eh? ...(I would actually like to see it, or an Information panel, integrated into all plugins actually.)
Saving and naming presets works well enough for me, but I know that we all have our own workflows and tendencies.
As for which notch is for whom, the "Areas" view is customizable...you could name each according to its purpose.

I don't feel the Areas workflow as something that works on the fly, mind you it's a good idea to do an areas preset for a serious mix, nice stuff all around

I'm afraid I have to just say no to this, this feature seems way out of what 99.999% people would use.

You can add notes to any preset in the Melda line of plugins so that would be the place for such info I think.

I agree...iliasboufidis wrote:Hello all, hope you're doing good, it just came to me that i'd love to be able to name eq bands (in eq plugs) -hopefully in a way that doesn't much interfere with screen real-estate-, i think it could make for sturdier preset making and potentially a faster more customized workflow...

I re-named them "HP" "1" "2" "3" "4" "5" and "LP"... I hope this helps you....
Good preset naming also helps...
BUT to name a band.. "I might use this for kick_click_removal, depending on how I set it" might work for you...
but !!!!
