One of my background projects is creating a U-he sound set, using combinators for the purpose of targeting the Reason shop. I am pretty sure the RE version of Uhbik is on its way out, at least on the web site. However it is still in the propellerheads shop, and probably will be for a while.
My question is is there any advantage to the RE version of Uhbik given this circumstance? I am pretty sure I am better off with the VST versions, however I have no idea how well the RE's ended up selling to the Reason clique.
I am just getting a sanity check before I drop $350 acquiring both, because I think just the VST version will get the job done. I am willing to program both, just not sure it makes sense to bother.
Any insight to why the RE version would increase popularity is appreciated.
Thanks!

Actually, when Propellerhead said that RE would go subscription only, we asked for REs to be removed from their shop. Apparently they still kept buy-for-liftetime alive, maybe because we do want existing owners of Uhbik REs to keep lifetime access to them.
We did offer a crossgrade from Uhbik RE to Uhbik VST/AU/AAX, depending on the investment made into REs. Not sure if/how that applies to recent sales, I'm not involved much in those processes.

That is helpful thanks.
I am not too concerned about recent sales, the $50 price difference between the RE package and VST Uhbik on the propellerheads shop should be extremely discouraging moving forward. I will say that would change overnight if the cross grade were made available again and advertised. If it is still available, that is not common knowledge.
I just looked at the shop, and the RE (All Of Uhbik) package has 2715, 5 star ratings. Which is extraordinary, and probably an audience I do not want to alienate. I can at least download the trials and see what I am up against. I don't mind buying and supporting both if there is a purpose to it.
Love the product line though, I only have 4 left in annoying demo mode. Diva, Uhbik, Presswerk and MFM which are up next.

As I said, we were under the impression that Props would stop selling Uhbik. I don't think we'd stop the crossgrade, but the last thing I do is encourage buying into RE. We are never going to update these plug-ins, simply because we lost compatibility. There's no way we're going to spend months on making them compile for RE again.

Point taken, I do not want to contribute to any misdirection. The RE version eventually becoming a dead end is crystal clear, and simplifies what I want to do anyway.
Thanks for helping me think this through. I appreciate it.
