ARP Odyssey M1 MDE-X: Software Effects Suite Mono/Poly MS-20 Polysix Wavestation

Post

I got the upgrade coupon, and did upgrade to the new collection (at a really great price - $49). I also have the migrarion coupons.

Question: Since the new Collection will have all the instruments (as it's described on the product page), do I need the migration coupons? Or may I just ingonre them?

EDIT: I just used them anyway. Let's see what the e-mails will bring.

I'm not seeing a way to purchase the Arp separately ?
I don't think there is

https://korg.shop/software/korg-collect ... undle.html

and get the upgrade code from your korguser.net account.

I think somehow even though I own all those Korg plugins I don't have the "Collection". So it looks like I'd have to pay $199 to get the "Collection" which would only bring me Mono/Poly and the Arp.

Sorry Korg, I'll pass.

But it's good news that the M1 and Wavestation will get some love in the future since they are the only ones I ever use.

Is this what you mean?

Thanks, that's it....I didn't see a link.

I think I'll pass on the Korg at $69.99 since it won't bring anything new to my arsenal.

Indeed. Fortunately, Korg realized that there are users who don't give a shit to that Gadget nonsense, and just want proper instruments, done as they should be. Now, let's wait for the updates, and hopefully some news in this front (I have a few ideas )

I think you should reconsider. Consider this an investment in the future of Legacy Collection. I think we should all unite to show Korg that Gadget is not the path to follow in the desktop, but rather this.

Because you don't want to be the guy coming back here in a few months saying his plugins no longer work/authorise, KorgUser.net is gone, there is no way to get upgrade coupons anymore and they want $250 from me to make my existing plugins work again!

It's going to happen to someone, don't let it be you..! ;)

So let me see if I understand this correctly? I have no interest in an ARP Odyssey. So I'm going to spend 50 bucks just in the HOPES that someday they make the rest of the Legacy Collection with bigger GUIs?

Yeah, I think I'll pass.

No, you don't need to do anything, and Korg have already announced they're making bigger GUIs for these plugins.

So I take it that this means that plugins like the ms20 have received no more an update than a cosmetic one?

Based on the comparisons I've heard, the difference between the ms20mini and the ms20 legacy pluging is still huge which is surprising given that many other emulations or redoes sound really close to the originals - e.g. roland's vst's etc.

Can't say I'm completely surprised.

The old plugins haven't changed at all *yet*, apart from presumably the licensing scheme, but Korg have announced updates for these are *coming*.

The only *new* thing at the moment is the Arp, and the imminent closing down of the old KorgUser.net account/registration system.

But I do have to do something. I have to reregister this stuff.

DSP didn't change at all.
What about the Odyssey?
