Korg updates its Legacy Collection with a new Arp Odyssey emulation

What is the URL for the new account? I can't find it in any of the instructions at Korguser.net

The instructions are quite clear. Once logged in a korguser.net, click on "Migration coupon".

You see:

- Please install the product according to the procedure described in the email after purchase completion.
- Follow the instructions on the screen when launching for the first time to authenticate the license.

You better use the migration codes. This way, you will get the new registration serial and you will have the products registered in your new account. When you get the e-mail with the new serials and links, you can simply file them and save them for later. The most important part (registration) is already done. My two cents

Yes, this is exactly it as I understand it. I just migrated pretty painlessly.

I just loaded a preset that gave me a different GUI... but I can't find that setting anywhere.

Wow, does that even fit on the monitor? Looks very high...

1244 pixels with the preset selection / save, load /settings part: fits on my 1440P monitor. But without that section it's 931 pixels - so should fit on a 1080P screen.

I assume that the plugins authorized under the old system will not just cease to operate at some arbitrary point in time ? Only if you want to reinstall / reauthorize would it be an issue ?

Sometimes these things are forced upon you - eg, a computer break, and you change the motherboard, which forces a re-authorisation as the hardware has changed, etc. The point is, I doubt anything will just stop working, but sooner or later, if prople don't take steps now, they'll end up in that situation.

Look at all the people who had a *year* to back up their Camel installers etc, who still came back after a year or more later, with no way to reinstall their softwar, complaining...

But does anyone know if these code will expire at some time ? If the codes are going to expire if you don't use them by some date then yes I guess I'll have to update even before there are more significant updates.

You don't need to update to use the codes. The codes let you download the new versions of the plugin. So, do the migration, download the new versions, and you're set for now, and can update your actual plugins in use at your convenience, safe in the knowledge that they will authorise correctly with the new system going forward.

But I do have to do something. I have to reregister this stuff.

It's a bit of a confusing mess. Apparently I have to spend 30 minutes to an hour re-registering my plugins, making sure they're all installed and everything and in return nothing is updated other than the new authorization method. No new updated GUIs or other concerns. Seems a bit sad really.

And if the Korg Odyssey is $49 as standard, then there is no discount for bundle owners. Not worth it to me, as I have Oddity 2.

So thanks Korg making me do all the extra work for nothing, just because you can't copy over customer details yourselves.

1) Firstly if even you don't have the bundle and just individual items... once you create your new account if it takes you more than 2 minutes per item, it isn't Korg it is you. If you have the bundle it may take 2 minutes total to register them at the new site......
2) As they have mentioned there are some stability issues. Seems to have fixed something for me, if you have no issues..... you don't have to update your plugins currently, just register them at the korg.shop
3)the standard cost is $69 not $49

They could have just like many other software overtime, just abandoned them.

Depends if you load a patch from Factory, Rev1 or Rev2
Gui changes accordingly.

I guess if I want an Init preset and select GUI, I'll have to make it myself (3x). Weird implementation!

Yeah, but not without collapsing the top section (effects, sequencer) too.

Korg plugins are rather old, can they compete with Roland's new emulations in terms of quality and authenticity?

The Wavestation os a perfect replica of the original (it ever was). I know - I have both.

The M1 is actually BETTER than the original (again, I have a 03R/W, which belongs to a later generation, close, but better than the M/T series, and I managed to replicate several presets of the 03R/W with the M1).

The MS20, Polysix and MonoPoly - I never had contact with the originals, but I like the way they sound - especially the MonoPoly. Being old also means they are much lighter, which is an advantage

I used to have the M1, but the GUI was just too small, so I sold it.
It was very light on my computer, though, that's true.
Then again, it was not an emulation of an analog synth

Yes it can but you don't gain anything useful as far as I can see.. anyway you can scroll up the gui to see the other sections.

Didnt the old codes change each time they needed reauthorising, which was quite often for some people, if they updated their OS for example.
Under Windows 8 I was regularly having to reauthorise them and the code was always different.

To be honest I don't remember as I've had the Korg plugins for years. I've only had to authorize them once on each DAW there were installed on over that time.

Are they doing the migration of accounts in order to prevent the common resale of entire accounts on KVR and elsewhere, or is that still possible with the new system?
