Cant get my T7 to show more than 2 inputs from my 12 channel Mackie Pro FX12

Hello everyone. I am new to all this and am super excited. However, I cant seem to figure out why my T7 software isnt showing my mixer input channels. I am only getting input 1 and input 2, and the both channel combined audio from all channels

It's a hardware limitation on the mixer. The ProFX12 only has a 2-channel output via MIDI.

Not that you can't use it; but you are limited to really recording either 2 mono tracks or one stereo track at a time if you want to keep individual instruments on separate tracks. This isn't really a problem if you're creating music one track at a time; but if recording a live band you'll be stuck with either the entire performance on a stereo track, or the ability to have 2 mono tracks (i.e. to have the vocalist separately); but the Profx12 also has a limitation that the USB interface just mimics the main out; rather than being a truly independent BUS.

I have a Pro FX12 and the thing work like this, all inputs in your mixer go to a single stereo channel (input 1 + unput 2) in your PC, to record each mixer input separately you have to record them one by one.

Thank you both for the info. Regardless of this fact I am still excited to learn how to use this. I am a little bummed at myself for not doing more research before I bought it. I misunderstood its abilities.

The "trick" is to make sure what comes in on the USB interface is only the "new" stuff from the mixer, and not echoed back from what the computer is playing - and for that there is a USB thru button on the ProFX mixers, at least the 8/12 versions. When adding a new track you really don't want to re-record the NEW instrument along with all the other stuff the computer is sending...

I think the 16 has done a few things better, like having more control over the USB and includes a second bus.
