every once in a while there's an article about this
http://my.webmd.com/content/article/61/67505.htm
currently it's a tune of mine named 'jinger'9it's on the soundclick site)
i tend to get stuck on it on the busy days when I'm trying to get a lot done under pressure
for many years i made a habit of going on silent retreats about once a month for a weekend. getting a song stuck in your head is a common occurence there, esp. if the teacher dares to quote a lyric from a pop tune.
i heard of one guy who spent a whole week with Dylan's 'It's all over now baby blue'
one time i came back home to sleep after 14 hours of meditation to get up and do it again the next day. it was summer so the windows were open. a car pulled up across th estreet with the radio blasting a kid's song 'B I N G O, B I N G O, B I N G O and Bingo was his name oh' The kept the car running till the song was over. My circuits were wide open and that song looped through the night and through the next few days.

Very good question.
All day today I've have a bunch of Usher tunes going thru my head (You Make Me Wanna, Yeah & Burn are the three tracks bugging me)
It's cos I just met a chick who really fancies him.
But since I read this thread I'm getting all kinds of obscure stuff running thru my head now.

Lately, I have been mostly hearing in my head:
Sun Ra - Space Is The Place.
Groet, Erik

That's probably true though, I was thinking the same as you when I last posted here.
