Afraid it does not work in Fedora or Centos. Reaper finds the instruments in both (which it did not before in Centos), but there is no GUI on either OS. Happy holidays!

Are there any messages on stdout or stderr? or some messages in x-server log when you open the UI?

I guess it can now properly load the plugin (no more missing or incompatible libs) but the statically linked libX11/XCB does not match the x-server's protocol.

FWIW, build 4365 works for me on archlinux with reaper (first time I test). No presets, but maybe that is to be expected?

Edit: Looks like the tarball is missing a lot of stuff, maybe I have to grab some earlier build and then overwrite it with the new build.

[Music] Elixir - Repro-5 and Hollo Xpressive soundset

Hello !

This is a synth piece that starts smoothly then goes into higher gear with busy drums and bass over which a theme/synth lead hovers.

Made using the latest u-he Repro-5 synth and the Hollo Xpressive soundset. Created in Bitwig, mixed in Mixbus32C. 10 Repro-5 tracks, 2 drum/perc tracks. All synth sounds are from Repro-5, excluding drums. All in Linux.

I'm running Fernando's rt kernel for F23 here, but most of the rest of my music/sound software is either commercial or compiled locally. I'm also using Planet C's basic audio configuration, which includes PulseAudio working nicely with Jack.

Hey Alex,

Loaded the latest Repros into BWS 2.2.3, much improvement already. GUIs are drawn completely, though I didn't try resizing yet. Some controls are still a little sluggish but everything seems to work, presets load okay, and the sounds are truly awesome.

My experience so far:

Repro-1 - All is good
Repro-5 - Works, but crashes when I try to open to edit using the GUI interface. This has been an issue with most of the betas for me so far.

Bitwig 2.2.3
Ubuntu Studio - pretty standard build, if I remember correctly.

Yes I saw that. Although Fedora is at version 27 while CCRMA at 24. Hence the asking.

Nando might want to update the site. From Planet CCRMA News 11/21/2017 :

Fedora 27's RT patched kernel is here, based on 4.13.13-rt5, lightly tested on my test laptop (boots and apparently runs fine, jack starts but that's it). Also supercollider 3.8 & supercollider-sc3-plugins, sclang/scsynth starts and a sine wave plays (ie: it works)...

Later reports indicated support for more packages. I think these links point to the current status :

This static build works fine in my Kxstudio 14.04 box.. Since the released Repro-1 build, no betas until now have been working at all. This is amazing.

Thanks for the feedback!

That hints indeed at (statically linked) libx11/xcb mismatching the x-server API. I hazard a guess that dynamically linking against libX11, but keeping everything else statically linked will solve this.

Anyway all this feels like 3 steps forward, one step back.

PS. there has been a report on #ardour IRC that it works on recent Fedora, incl GUI. I'll try to find out details and report back.

I get this when loading Repro-5 from linux Reaper,
a n empty gray gui, and a stream in the terminal of:

xcb_shm_put_image_checked: BadDrawable

(on pclinuxos, with official nvidia driver,
and nvidia 9400 pcie video card, and

xcb-util 0.4.0-3
libxcb 1.12-4

Other U-he plugins and the vst sundries are loading fine,
just not Repro1 and 5.

BUT...after removing the pair of new linux Repro's that are now failing,
I reinstalled the single release of (just) linux Repro-1,
and it works fine, so something in the newer graphics scheme
is not right.

Repro 5 windows version works OK in wine/reaper, with official nvidia driver

and also in Mint 18 with Bitwig-8-Track, using the nouveau driver.

But, in reaper, both wine/windows and linux versions, text and labels are skewed to the right
by about 30%, but the text is centered fine in Bitwig-8-Track in Mint 18

Hope you're all having Christmas fun, being snowed in here with Repro 5,
is quite cool...so keeping wood on the fire.
