ARP Odyssey M1 MDE-X: Software Effects Suite Mono/Poly MS-20 Polysix Wavestation

Post

I tried the migration business this morning (yet again) and it finally worked.

Should I bother re-installing M1 and Wavestation for the PC? Has anything been updated?

they show up as different versions than the previous. Apart from that, no noticeable differences...

Can someone make a video for the new Arp Odyssey since there isn't demo to download.

The main difference seems to be the new activation system. So no not much point to bother at the moment.
No signature here!

Just look for videos about the iOS version. It‘s the same. There are some.

Hi are you on mac or pc?

I disagree about the sound league, but that is always personal taste, so won't try to argue that with you :-) (although it is quite/very possible I just never liked the odyssey as much as I liked the prophet 5, pro1).

But cpu wise, at least with MC on, on my mac Repro-1/5 has better asio load/cpu performance and on pc it is even worse....
curious to know what system you are on.

So how many instances could you run on a mac.
I just tried it on my iPhone with Gadget and if i use f.e the Authentic Lead preset with 8 voices unison i can run 5 instances at 128 sample buffer.
When i higher the buffer i can run 7-8.
All running the same patch with the 8 voice unison.
So an i7 or i5 should run at least 3-4 times more since my iPhone isn‘t even half as powerful as the latest iPads.
Sorry, but i just couldn‘t accept such a bad optimized software. Otherwise i better use it on iOS and record it into Logic. But i really would prefer it as plug-in.

tbh I haven't tested how many Odysseys I can run, it is usually pulling up an instance and trying to get familiar with the presets etc....and doing the same on the mac. And of course looking at the asio load on cubendo whilst I do so. I use 64 sample size buffer (Komplete Audio 6 on mac and Lynx 2c on pc) and I have indeed done stuff with several instances of repro-1/5 on my computers....
I know there are some patches (like factor 046 don't remember the name of it right now) that holding three notes crackles on my pc nuendo but not mac cubase so I do think the mac optimising is indeed a bit better or the pc version has issues with cubendo. Whereas with MC on I can do quite a bit with repro on either machine.

I'd hope they do some better comparison, than a really simple patch you can do in Synth1 with a similar timbre.

Check this out from NI Monark:

https://soundcloud.com/nativeinstrument ... comparison

It's the extreme sounds which should be close, not the easy peasy, one oscillator, and reso on 40 % sounds.

What I find interesting (from 0:40 on) is that the more technology progresses, the closer one gets to tactile operation again :hihi:

Makes me wonder if there is a generic Midi keyboard app for touchscreens. Would be cool, a, say, 2.5-octave virtual Midi controller with wheels and assignable buttons and sliders on a 12" tablet put flat on the table :)

You have to run the actual installers and enter the codes one more time during the process. This initially confused me.
i was hoping that was the case. Thanks for confirming it for me :-)

Maybe a stupid comment but I could not find my installers anywhere, until I realized that they were located under my Account/Account information/Registered products. I always associate account information with my address, name, password ans stuff like that. I never expected to find the installers in that location :dog:
I checked there. It seems that i have to download the installers from the links in the emails, installe them, and run through the authorization process on each plugin, before the account will even show that i own these products. I think this is dumb, personally.
