Magix (the makers of Samplitude) was suppose to be for PC what Logic use to be. I don't understand what well wrong on the marketing side. But excluding the price tag, Samplitude should have been next right before Tracktion or Live.Jaeson Merrill wrote:just how is TRACKTION in the big 4???
sorry, but its the big 4:
cubase
protools (Begrudginly)
logic
sonar
thats it.
samplitude is next, perhaps tracktion 2.
Can the Big 4 sequencers become 5 to 7?

No votes for nTrack or Kristal Audio Engine. No surprise here.
But where in the hell are the Pro-Tools votes when they should count. Hummmmmmmmm?

Koolkeys answered that question back on page 2.Jaeson Merrill wrote:i still dont understand, how is tracktion an uber-app?
And I also mention to Robert about what was reported in the first Computer Music Beginner's Guide Special.
Yes, they counted Tracktion as number 4 and Reason as number 5

you're still assuming that you'll get a lot of serious votes for this ridiculous poll?TonyVanDam wrote:No votes for nTrack or Kristal Audio Engine. No surprise here.![]()

Look mate, there seem to be so many misconceptions in your mind about sequencers in general and the hosts you listed and the hosts you didn't list - so... uhm... - get medical help asap.

First of all (smartass), I know exactly what a sequencer is. So you can take your "medical help" statement and go to helljens wrote:you're still assuming that you'll get a lot of serious votes for this ridiculous poll?TonyVanDam wrote:No votes for nTrack or Kristal Audio Engine. Second of all (seriously), the only dumb questions that exist around here are the ones that never get ask to begin with.
If you were reading most of the pages of this thread to start with, you would have seen me saying:
Computer Music mess up on their information before I did.
I don't mean to slap at you too harshly, but you need to understand that this is serious research for me. I need to know if CM were right for calling Tracktion a member of "The Big 4" or not.
And you're not help me one bit by prejudging me too soon without understanding what really going on since page 1. So please watch yourself.

Hmmmm.
Clearly not enough people have tried Podium yet. Y'all will come around sooner or later
On a serious note, I do hope that people do get turned on to Podium. It is really a great piece of kit.

That's bollocks! FL and ORION probably have at least as big a feature-set as traditional sequencers and these days the overlap is about 90% or better. If FLstudio has a focus its on obscure workflow.Jaeson Merrill wrote:FLstudio will never be on the big list, cause its very focused, and rocks , and is cheap

Tony, Why do you need this "serious" research? No really what do you hope to acomplish? Define "Big" and who cares what app makes the big 5? Everyone should use what works best for them. So far all your research has proven is that it's easy to start a flame war over Host/Sequencers. Anyone who has been a member of KVR for even a short while could have told you that without a poll. If you're looking for advice on which app would be best for your needs you should present the question in that form or better yet try the demos and see what works best for you. I'm sorry I really just don't get the point of this poll.

And Orion's workflow is crude and it's still the most unstable app I own. See Tony this is all your poll will acomplish. People will argue to their dying breath in defense of their favorite Host /Sequencer and no one will change anybody's mind. It's just pointless. Use what works for you and let other's use what works for them and leave it at that.BONES wrote:That's bollocks! 1)Computer Music may/may not have made a mistake in their reporting.Teksonik wrote:Tony, Why do you need this "serious" research? No really what do you hope to acomplish? 2) I trying to understand the software of the future of music production (so far, it looks like Live or soft studios in general).
3) Does anyone ever understands what they're reading since page 1???

Come on Tek, BONES will never need mine or anyones help in provoking controversy. Beside, he love Orion as much as I love FL Studio. And BONES' killer synths works perfectly in both of our respected soft studios.Teksonik wrote:And Orion's workflow is crude and it's still the most unstable app I own. As for myself, I want to know everyone's opinions.
I trust the KVR more for information than the mainstream all together.

At the time of typing (3:22am CST) 45% of the voters said that Live is the software that will make this "The Big 5".
Are you going to tell 45% (and counting) voters that they made a mistake for help me with what YOU call a ridiculous poll? Hello jens, I'm call you out. What's your excuse now?
