You can beat a trap in SAW, though you might have to cut off a limb to do so.Daags wrote:anyone know where I can find some tutorials on making trap beats in SAW ?

When you can attack other DAWs you even manage to get your head out of Steinbergs ass...Romantique Tp wrote:We're talking about some old dude selling an overpriced and extremely outdated DAW to other old dudes who don't know better and genuinely believe that it sounds better than other DAWs, not some company selling $50000 spreadsheet programs to the US military or a big company.SJ_Digriz wrote:Jumping on the LawrenceF bandwagon, the lack of just basic business knowledge is truly staggering here sometimes. I work on systems that charge thousands and thousands of dollars per seat AFTER buying the core software for hundreds of thousands, and charge 28% and more annual maintenance ... which does not include upgrades. This little niche world of $2 plugins and phone apps is a joke. Hard working, knowledgeable/skilled devs who have spent endless hours slaving over algorithms then getting mocked and/or ridiculed pisses me off sometimes.
Many businesses actually CHOOSE ON PURPOSE to ignore the cheap assed unwashed masses, simply so they don't have to deal with mainstream bullshit. You'd be shocked at the number of millionaires out there that couldn't care less if they ever sell you a $5 widget for your iPad.

So it's faster than A, B, X by how much? Runs more tracks with less latency by how much? Works a lot better with hardware exactly how? What this topic needs is real tests, not pro and contra generalizations. Anyone willing to take up the task?LawrenceF wrote:As ugly as it is (subjectively speaking, UI wise) that thing runs like the wind audio engine wise.

As I no longer use SAW I can not give definitive comparisons, however back in about 1999/ 2000 on a lowly Pentium3 SAW was very nubile and efficient. For sure it is not a DAW for the home producer... or even maybe any type of electro music. This is not it's reason! It really is like a multitrack tape machine on computer. I would still consider it a contender if I still had a studio and was wanting to work like the analog days... by that I mean real proper hardware mixer and out board and needed some means to record multiple tracks at once. If you've never used it and just look at the interface and go ewwwk>>> you really don't know ... best keep it that way and not criticise something you don't "get"!!!
