i sent a support inquiry to Korg about the lack of Collection upgrades for customers who bought the two collections but NOT the Mono/Poly, as well as the lack of any separate products on the store. Let's see what they say...

I have upgraded from M1Le to full Legacy Collection in 2014... and yes I got a serial code also fro MDE-X: installed with the others synths, authorized and all worked fine in my system, fmr wrote:Hmmm. Did you EVER had a bundle that included MS-20 and Polysix and MDE-X, or did you bought all of them individually? Did you have Legacy Cell listed in your old profile - in Korg User Net?Polarity wrote: Actually also in my Korg ID a downloadable Legacy Cell is missing...
and I have MS-20 and Polysix reinstalled and authorized with the new system and listed with the other three synths (M1, WS and Mono/Poly).
MDE-X is missing on my side because it's not listed as registered in my User Net Account and I can't find a way to register it again without a lock code. So no migration coupon for it.
Maybe MDE-X is the problem happening to Jace-BeOS?
What's the User Net support mail address, please? I can't find it anywhere on User net pages?
Legacy Cell included that it was what I used most together M1.
Probably I forgot then to register MDE-X manually or Korg User Net lost its registration.
I don't know now.
Why I should have troubled to check to register it at that time if it was working?
I'm trying to reinstall all from scratch after having deleted all from register too.
Let's see if I make to register also MDE-X this time.

As you can see MDE-X and Legacy Cell are in the download section of my account.
All regular, I just thought they were "extra bonus" software for the legacy collection suite and forgot about the serial code for MDE-X received in the "upgrade" email till these days
of "forced" server/account migration by Korg.

Good luck with their support.Jace-BeOS wrote:i sent a support inquiry to Korg about the lack of Collection upgrades for customers who bought the two collections but NOT the Mono/Poly, as well as the lack of any separate products on the store. Let's see what they say...
I tried to reason with them, asking repeatedly why someone with an M1LE license (the free thing that comes with their $25 controllers) would get a $99 upgrade while I, owning a bunch of their regular products, have to buy a full bundle license at $149, but they just keep repeating "there is no upgrade for your product. thank you for your understanding.". Their last answer stated "There is no upgrade for single product", and when I replied "Doesn´t M1LE count as a single product?", they didn´t get back at me again.
I really don´t get it, has the market for music software grown so much that companies need loyal long-term customers less and less now? First, a Spitfire Audio screw-up, now Korg,... I´m sitting on christmas money to spend, and none of these companies want it.

I noticed that MDE-X and Legacy Cell are greyed out, which means they are not registered in your account (you can still download the installers, but you would not be able to authorize them). So, most likely, you didn't register MDE-X, that's why you don't have Legacy Cell now.Polarity wrote:As you can see MDE-X and Legacy Cell are in the download section of my account.

Yep! But it worked now! Also MDE-X and Legacy Cell are listed as registered and aren't grey anymore.fmr wrote:I noticed that MDE-X and Legacy Cell are greyed out, which means they are not registered in your account (you can still download the installers, but you would not be able to authorize them). So, for summary (if can be useful for others) I uninstalled all and deleted all voices from register. Reinstalled only MDE-X, launched Cubase and opened the plugin, got my lock code...
and got the licence authorization code registering with the MDE-X serial code with the Full Legacy Collection option (and not the MDE-X option because it was rejecting it), and it worked.
And also the upgrade coupon for the new Korg Collection with Arp Odyssey appeared!
Tomorrow with calm I will reinstall all others plugin of the collection.

M1 LE was a light versiuon of M1 that was included for free with several hardware. That's why there is an upgrade path (there ever was an upgrade path from M1 LE to the Korg Digital Collection, at least).epiphaneia wrote: I tried to reason with them, asking repeatedly why someone with an M1LE license (the free thing that comes with their $25 controllers) would get a $99 upgrade while I, owning a bunch of their regular products, have to buy a full bundle license at $149, but they just keep repeating "there is no upgrade for your product. thank you for your understanding.". Other than that, the only product I remember being available for purchase separately at a certain time is MonoPoly.
What you had (historically) was Korg Legacy Collection (the first bundle, that was sold with a hardware controller that was a replica of the MS-20), then the Digital Collection (M1 and Wavestation) and later the Analog Collection (when they rearranged the bundles, removing Wavestation from the old bundle, and including MonoPoly). So, what "bunch" of software is it that you have?
(and don't come here with the iOS products - as I said, those belong to another universe, and don't count to this championship). Neither does Gadget.

That was pretty much their response to my attempt to reason with them too. I will try again and escalate this up the chain. I did that once with Apple and finally got through to the CTO at the time and he just snapped his fingers and made things happen. It’s just tiring to do so and really shouldn’t happen - it’s fundamentally unjust and not to mention bad policy to sh!t on long term, high paying customers over what seems to be mere technicalities which make no rational sense.

See? It was just a matter of rationalizing, and checking things.Polarity wrote: So, for summary (if can be useful for others) I uninstalled all and deleted all voices from register. Reinstalled only MDE-X, launched Cubase and opened the plugin, got my lock code...

I want them to continue the 32-bit VST2 versions. What is the KORG email for suggestions?

I think your confusing people again. I’m the one who bought the original collection.
Here’s the bottom line: I have spent over $400 on the KLC. I get no upgrade. Someone spends LESS and get the upgrade. The reason? Because I lack one plugin. So Korg rewards those who spent LESS money to get MORE plugins than someone, like myself, who spent more money (more than double) on fewer plugins, simply because I was an early customer of theirs (I believe the original collection was released 13 years ago!!!)
And, I can come in and talk about other Korg software, absolutely. I’ve spent hundreds on their iOS apps, for some apps which Korg have admitted is exactly the same code! They are unlike your claim, definitely within the same “universe”. Head over to Analog Industies and read Chris Randall’s Post about how easy it is to code for MacOS, Win, and iOS now. So yeah - on top of my previous argument, I will argue that my iOS apps expenditure is relevant in light of the fact that I’ve ALREADY spent $400+ on the KLC. Absolutely.
I’ll tell you what - this is the last time I ever spend full price on software again, and maybe even the last time I spend anything on Korg.

There is also no upgrade path for users of the Korg legacy collection (which is the bundle without M1).
However, this just makes it easier to pass on this.

The Korg Legacy Collection is the bundle WITHOUT M1 AND MonoPoly. So, you just have three products, out of five. I think that these should be eligible for an upgrade path, but OF COURSE not at the same price of those of us that have EVERYTHING (and in the process, I even got Wavestation and the effects twice - yet, you didn't hear me complain)... Following your line of thinking, I should have got Odyssey for free, since I actually paid twice for Wavestation.Arrested Developer wrote: There is also no upgrade path for users of the Korg legacy collection (which is the bundle without M1).
It's funny - where were you when Korg announced Gadget, and not a single word about us, the people that had the entire Korg Collection, or YOU, who just had a few?
I was one of the few that raised my voice claiming that what they were doing was wrong for us - since they were trying to sell AGAIN what we already have. But now you want that the iOS products count as advantage for buying the regular desktop products?
Come on - some coherence would be good. If I could not claim any ownership to get a special price on Gadget (neither the iOS owners, AFAIK) why should that count for this product line?
(Not that I was interested in Gadget)
