Endorsed by Tiesto, take my money...
Ignore testimonials. Lots of high profile guys like Tiesto will endorse a pile of sticks if they get it for free. The whole product testimonial business is a racket. I speak from 1st hand experience.
I was totally joking, if that wasn't clear. A Tiestomonial is almost a guarantee that I won't be interested.
Haha - sorry, my sarcasm detection is malfunctioning today. But seriously, I wish composers / producers were more responsible with their recommendations, and not so whorish. A lot of up and coming artists don't have a lot of money to spend, and don't have access to trying out everything on the market, and can therefore rely heavily on the opinions of people in the business. It makes be irrationally angry when I see these dummies hawking every little product, many that they never use, simply to feed their ego by getting their name on more things and horde free stuff. A few film composers I've crossed paths with are insanely guilty of this.
These are in no way related. No artist ever pays for an endorsed product. See Gibson, PRS. You see artists endorsing DAWs despite the fact that if they are under a major label there's engineers who know what they are doing cranking it out on Pro Tools.
Besides this is a Kontakt based instrument which will always have limitations.

Is the full version of Kirnu Cream worth getting when you have the CM version and Cthulu? Oh and Thesys. Though it got put on the backburner in downloading/installing priority. :borg: :help:

Anyone in need of a 15% off coupon for U-he? I have a code sitting around that I never used, and looks like there's no restrictions on giving it away. It's good till December 31st.

I'll send it to the first person who sends me a PM...

EDIT: Now taken as well...

This has been asked a few times and the consensus seems to be that the CM version is probably good enough. Sounds like they stopped maintaining it a couple of years back, probably the same as the last update on the CM version. Can't remember what else was said but it was enough to talk me out of buying it.

Thanks, that's kind of what I remember reading. I didn't know if anything had changed since I remember seeing a number of people here talking about grabbing it on BF.

The CM version did receive several updates so it may be worth checking a more recent version of it. Nothing added though so probably just bugfixes.

It's probably just personal connections. KSHMR has supposedly collaborated with 7skies before on Serum Orchestra and it's the same group of people again. Standalone Music is a "collective of artists" so who knows who's connected to whom. Labelmates, it seems.

With other products it's similar circles of working professionals. It's likely they've bumped into one another or even recommended someone who might be a "better fit" for a project.

The Soundiron bundle at Audioplugin Deals does indeed look pretty decent. As does that Sample Logic Cinematic Guitars. It's been a pretty good season for sampler instruments all round i reckon.

If EDM is your thing, this is actually a very nice library. 7Skies is an absolutely outstanding sound designer and 77$ isn't that expensive for a Kontakt Player library either.

Btw, if a testimonial is supposed to influence the opinion about a product and you are basing your decision to not consider it interesting based on a testimonial, didn't the testimonial serve its purpose then? :)
I suppose, but, I don't think that's what the vendor is going for. For me though, I was a bit serious in that there are some artists whose taste I have essentially zero respect for so if they endorse something it's going to bias me against the product before I've even heard it.

They can also backfire even if I do respect the artist if the endorsed product turns out to be crap. Eno endorsed the original Korg Kaos mixer. My god is that mixer a piece of absolute crap.

It's not really intentional, it's just a conditioned response. For me though, (famous) artist endorsements mean very little. In fact I'd say that you'd be hard pressed to name a famous person whose endorsements I value more than some KVR members.

With a lot of the devs active on this forum, i find the need for "celebrity" endorsements irrelevant. I get a better sense from the interactions on here, the responsiveness to bugfixes and the general vibe of the creators.

I guess when an artist i like puts their name to a product it may attract my intention, but i still haven't got Soundtoys Decapitator even after NIN did those videos for them.

I agree though, there are some really talented sound designers round here whose opinions i take far more seriously than the usual EDM producers that tend to frequently endorse synths.

I second the KVR member endorsement approach. Good advice.

With artist endorsement you need to be able to read them, the real message is quite often between the lines. Throughout my career I was in positions where I would endorse things in marketing materials (not in music, mind you - I am not really good in music production (yet :) ) ). In the best case people would approach me "could you give us a soundbite?", but more often than not it was more like "this is the soundbite we would like to use, are you ok with that?". And while I rarely actually said what was printed, I don't think I ever disagreed with it (at least I cannot remember that ever happening  ). But I did encode my real opinion into the sub-context of the soundbite once in a while.

In that sense an artist endorsement such as "I used it in my production" might just mean "I had it on my hard-drive while I was doing cool stuff with other things".

Yep, they’ve got some of the nicest Choirs and Grands. Soundiron is a great company and $99 is a sweet price for the entire bundle.

Truthfully, I've been waiting for a male choir, I've got a number of female ones, and this deal is great just for the Mars choir. And now with Venus, I pretty much have Olympus :D :tu:

Okay, had to laugh when I added it to my cart and one of the choices was to continue shopping. Because they have multiple products not available.

I almost wrote, leave package inside of gate on the delivery instructions. I don't know why they have stuff like that when they sell a digital product.
