If I have anything more to add about FL Studio I'll add to it.. and I'll make the choice of when that is, however it's unlikely given my current views and experience with it thus far. I'll probably await the official FLStudio 13.0 release however, and see if anything I mentioned has been changed for the better. Like others here, I'll give my honest feedback, not that I expect anyone to care...but there's always those that do..Hink wrote:yes it is, it's not about chess, not about you, not about how much you know about gui's, not about your 10 year old nephew, not about your music productions nor open for trolling. Yeah I tried it, I used it to change the colour of my bowel movements but it didn't work properly.THE INTRANCER wrote: Clearly you haven't used the utility in question, or simply unable to due to it being a Windows only application, there are two video's in that thread, the larger of which is specific to VFX previewing purposes with video, but clearly you didn't grasp that....I mean there is a video playing and a spectrograph scrolling ( And no you can't change colours of that in Studio One ). There's plenty of subtle profiles where colours are only slightly tweaked for better clarity, brightness, darkness for example and a big range of negative/inverse profiles to make using programs more visible in sunlit environments. It was part of my own project to support the user community of those on the presonus forums..it's been download over 700 times over there.
It was a challenge trying to interface it with my Stomach 2.0 Operating System with it being a Windows only program but I managed to run it via a decent WINDOWS>GASTRO bridge, it allowed me to change some elements of my gastro intestinal tract, (namely colon and pancreas) but not my bowel movements specifically which was the most important thing for me, so essentially I shat it back out and flushed it...
Also The GUI wasn't great for me I have to be honest. The watercoloring and subtle hues of muted lavender, hessian sage and mistral blue I like to see on applications just seemed a bit tonally missing on your utility. Given I have 30+ years experience of eating and shitting all kinds of software maybe I should of expected less from you.
Congratulations.THE INTRANCER wrote: As for my experience in GUI design, yeah... well besides having a degree in interactive interface development I acquired through University 10 years ago, a 2D & 3D digital artist, designing interfaces regularly since then and been using GUI's for over 30 years, don't wear glasses and have perfect 20/20 vision. Yea, more amazing free updates from IL.
Ive been holding fast at v11... But this update got me.
At Looptalk they are saying this is basically what the next major v will be, with some updates.
With the news that Graph Editors are returning soon, I am going to jump in and get accustomed to the v12 ui.

ok guys, I have asked him to back off in this thread. I know you guys have things you want to get off your chest but I heard what you were saying and attempted to do something about it. He seems to be complying which I for one appreciate so no offense to you folk but can we drop it and get on topic again please as opposed to inviting more. Please and thank you, happy new year

I love FL Studio.
I think I bought the lifetime license around FL 9. One of the major selling points was the FPC.
I hate to say this but it seems like that plugin gets less awesome over time. When I first used it way back there were all these kit choices and it was so fun. Now it's pretty basic with even less features. I never understood why that is.
Other than that I really love this DAW. I love the visuals and it's really the best for MIDI.

FL Studio has no more 'windows' than other DAWs. If you are restricted to a single monitor, you can snap them all into an arrangement not unfamiliar to other DAWs like Ableton, Studio One etc...and when you need maximize/minimize them for focused work.trancema wrote:FL switched to it's new shiny version 12 look, ... still had the same old concept of too many windows and digging through menus (which should be fixed first if you want new "appeal").

What sequence of keys is necessary to do that? There was Shift+Arrow-Keys, that seems to be missing. Can be returned if you ask nicely. But it seems a little churlish to claim all this:gentleclockdivider wrote:The ability to shift a step in the pattern step-sequencer by mouse sweeping .

This has more to do with how you react to change than FL Studio, the same thing happens to a proportion of all software users. OR, more likely something else entirely (see below)keel wrote:Songs produced in FL 10 = + 100, in FL 11 = 3, FL 12 = zero. Same thing is with many my producer friends. !
I am still using Adobe Photoshop CS2 because it works for me and does everything I need and I am super-comfortable with it. 12 year old software. If you can't deal with change, then FL Studio 10 is working no?
I don't really understand however, how you can complain about changes to FL Studio that thwarted your migration through 10 > 11 > 12 (which have almost identical workflows, options, settings etc). Yet are prepared to jump to another DAW with a whole new learning curve and completely different workflow?
This is about something other than changes to FL Studio, because you are no longer using FL Studio 10.
