Also, u-he synths process things internally in blocks of 16 samples, that's why they add PDC, but you can disable this in their plugins' Preferences panel.

What audio interface are you using?Cinebient wrote:But aren´t new generations of i7 f.e. better as older with higher clock speed sometimes etc.EvilDragon wrote:It absolutely is. Optimized code would just run even faster on it, but the fact is - the faster the base core clock, everything runs faster, giving you more instances, etc. etc.Cinebient wrote:Maybe, but Ghz is not everything if optimzed.
But i´m no expert here.
So i wonder if those 18 cores machines makes sense since they seems to have lower clock speed the more cores you get.
I was thinking about an upgrade to a new macbook (because i need to work with Logic) with the last i7 generation and 2,9Ghz i7.
Not sure if that would be worth it if that will at the end give the the usual 5% upgrades in performance........mmhhhhh, off topic, sorry.
Anyway, thank´s for your answer. Appreciated.
I think at least we all agree that Odyssey sounds great!

RME UFX+ over here.
But that has nothing to do with PDC, really.

Maybe! In some DAWs (like Studio One), some plugins have a negative effect on the cpu if you turn on the multi support (Like Dune 2), but with Reaper I have no problem with most or all the plugins I have. Especially now, it is a very stable DAW! I'm glad that you chose it because it is the Sylenth1 of the DAWs minus the optionsfluffy_little_something wrote: In my case it is the other way round, when I turn MC support off in the plugin, the CPU load goes down. Seems Reaper is doing a fine job spreading the load across various cores/threads without the interference of the plugin.
Ok, thank you.EvilDragon wrote:PDC is just delayed processing, it doesn't really affect CPU other than delaying when it should start processing.EnGee wrote:I don't really know how the PDC can affect the performance of the CPU. btw, you have your i7 overclocked, right?
I couldn't find the manual for this version, but I guess it is almost the same as in iOS (minus the XY Pads):virtualpt wrote:
Found it!! Didn't realize that there was an arpeggiator/sequencer hidden above the effects - scrolled & found it - LOL

Yes. i7-6700K is 4 GHz natively with 4.2 GHz "turbo" mode, but it works without a hitch and not much additional fan workout (no voltage changes) at 4.5 GHz. So I did it. Many plugins like that.EnGee wrote:btw, you have your i7 overclocked, right?

So you got it overclocked @4.5 Ghz on air?!! That's impressive! which cooler you are using if I may ask?EvilDragon wrote:Yes. i7-6700K is 4 GHz natively with 4.2 GHz "turbo" mode, but it works without a hitch and not much additional fan workout (no voltage changes) at 4.5 GHz. That's not a problem. Some guys are running that particular CPU at 4.7/4.8 GHz on air. I'm using Noctua NH-D15 with both fans mounted (it's a beast) - they're running pretty quiet at some 1000-1200 RPM (great silent blades). Idle temperature: 30-33°C

I really like the Odyssey, however I found a very repeatable crashing bug in it, in both the Mac VST and AU versions.
Looking to see if there might be contextual adjustment for the Proportional Pitch Control buttons, right-clicking on either the Flat, LFO or Sharp buttons will immediately crash the entire DAW. In my case, Cubase 9.5.10, Logic Pro X 10.3.3 or Studio One 2 v2.6.5. running on OSX 10.12.6.
Additionally, right-clicking on the 2 Oct Up/Down control will do the same.
Crashlogs for all three DAWs indicate some sort of Juce issue.
All I can say is that it is totally avoidable as long as you don't right-click somewhere in that lower left pitch control area.

Yep, can confirm that crash in Reaper too, so it doesn't seem to be DAW-specific.

Any way to report this to KORG that will actually attract attention of the programming team?
EvilDragon: You say not DAW specific. How about OS? Does it do the same thing on Windows?

Would be useful know where presets are being saved to on the HD, can't see a way to exchange them between computers or with the iOS version (if this is possible)

I can replicate this on Windows/Reaper 5 64bit.Weasel-Boy wrote:Any way to report this to KORG that will actually attract attention of the programming team?
