Sooo, I did not realize that the $199 upgrade from Arturia V Collection 5 to Collection 6 is supposed to be only available until January 10? At least that's the way I read the email they just sent out. Am I missing something?

Upgrade prices after 10.1. offer not been published, yet. It will be something between $ 199-299, I guess.

Website says: "Upgrade deals are available to Arturia customers until January 10th 2018."
I contacted them to clarify.

Yep, i'll wait till it reach the $99 price tag for v5 owners. :)
Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Same here. Got v4 for $69 and that's my call.

199 for upgrade from Arturia v5 to v6 is a theft, moreover when the "new" discounted intro price is 399.... I have posted complaints everywhere I could, and wrote to them. I won't get anything, I know...but...

I share your feelings, the 399/199 relation doesn´t feel fair. And I can wait for the better price, mainly because even without the v6 upgrade I have plenty of new stuff I haven´t had time to use and learn properly.
I can understand also, that our French friends may think, that the $ 199 price tag for such a major upgrade is a steal - from the buyers side.

I have v5 and, to be honest, I'm not all that keen on it other than synclavier - there's an arturia "sound" that runs through all their analog emulations that doesn't do it for me.

In terms of the upgrade price of 199, I think you have to look at what you're getting for the money: the clavinet, DX7, buchla easel and fairlight cmi are a heavier hitting bump than the synclavier, farfisa, b3, stage 73, and piano of v5 imo.

I think that it represents a somewhat new tweak to software business models. The lower entry price gets more customers into the cycle and the higher upgrade price yields more revenue from existing customers each cycle.

Whatever, that's their choice, but I'm not biting. The lower entry price just further devalues their instruments so I'm not willing to pay that much for the new ones. Like others, I'll wait until either a sale comes along or V7 comes out and the value feels better to me.

$199 for a regular upgrade price is high but debatable. But what annoys me is that they seem to consider this a "sales price" for the upgrade. If you want to upgrade after January 10 you have to pay the full $499 according to their marketing material (or wait for the next sale, apparently).

Must admit, I'm tempted but feel that this is probably aimed at keyboardists that can play rather better than myself. Have Lounge Lizard session, Addictive Keys Rhodes, Komplete and AIR's Velvet which will probably do me at present. Can't say I've ever been a fan of the 80s digital piano sound though, would prefer it if I could just buy NSK and Bassalicious and skip the rest (although they're still a pretty good deal for just those two).

Still, nice deal and look like really well put together instruments.

Already got (and love) NSK and Bassalicious. Not really into FM Tines but they sound like the real deal. And that MKSensation has some special keys thrown in with the Roland set. All-in-all quite a bargain indeed.

Note the wording in the email:

"Your previous version entitle you to the best offer you will ever receive. Get V Collection 6 for 199 US$ instead of 499 US$." (that is a copy and paste, so misspells/grammer are theirs too.)

Unless bought second hand...this, to me, is a contract. If they ever offer for less, you are due a refund.

But it also makes you consider if the upgrade is something you want/need.
