Valhalla, FabFilter or Zynaptiq are worth it to me.

I’ll buy them for full price, so long as that price is about $9

Sure if it's something I want badly, most companies have intro offers now so I usually take advantage of that.

I have most of what I want and need.
Currently I am motivated to buy by BIG discounts.

I would be willing to pay full price for
(rather than wait for a sale)
Iris 3
Cycle 2
Kaleidoscope 2
Cube 3 http://www.virsyn.de/en/E_Products/E_CUBE/e_cube.html
Tantra 2
Absynth 6

A good part of my setup has been bought thanks to discounted sales and special offers/promotion (I wouldn't have been able othewise!) and I usually look/wait for them, but I don't mind paying full price if the product deserves it (though I don't like at all if it gets discounted quite soon after my purchase... if I feel there could be soon such a sale, I usually wait for it to happend unless I really need the thing immediately).

Anyway, if something is often discounted or it receives a really deep (silly) discount, then I find it very difficult to buy it full price... I feel it as devalued (though it's usefulness is all still there).
best answer.

Deals are out there anytime of the year, many official holiday deals are not a bargain anymore since you will find some online store cutting prices off up to 80% sometimes. Who's gonna buy full price when even the average official discounted price doesn't seem like a big deal? I even see people buying at such over discounted prices, impulse buyers maybe, then reselling at a little bit more here on the marketplace once the special deal is over. Software has become the worst investment ever, totally devalued.
You replied in a 5-year old thread, which is funny. When people were already complaining about sales 5 years ago, today it is even worse I think...

I was wondering that myself.
Are there deeper discounts in the last few years.
Are sales offered more often.
There are years that I did not participate in music making so I was out of the loop.

When I started using software there were very seldom you could buy any plugin cheap. Maybe one's or twice every year like summer and before christmas. Back then Waves charged thousands of dollars for their plugins so they were out of question. Then group sales became popular. So since then I've never bought at full price and never will. The only exception has been SD2 upgrade and eventually SD3.

I haven't bought any software at full price since 2006. Why would you when almost everything is on sale all the time?

This thread is going to end sales for good if guys keep this up :) :dog:

Nah. :) Obviously, it pays off for the companies, and they're selling 3 times as many plugins, otherwise they wouldn't do it. Win-win.

I know a few musicians that are not aware of KVR and the sales that are announced here and so go on and pay the going price. Even when I tell them they ignore KVR. So most musicians pay the price that is posted on the website at the time of the purchase. If they are lucky it will be the Sale price. If a code is required for the discount they are out of luck.

We at KVR are in the minority chasing low prices.
