Well, i don't know which planet you are from, but, on earth, used software goes for 25-80 % of its new price. So, comparing used prices with new prices is total nonsense.

And you used "second hand" wich can have same meaningPyrotek45 wrote:lol the fact that you use the word "used" for software......chk071 wrote:Comparing used to new prices is never a good idea though. And, Synthmaster is one of the few synths offered for such a price, the dev's strategy rather seems to get a lot of customers (you can decide for yourself whether that is a good idea or not, a lot of customers means a lot of support, while getting less money for the single license). Anyway, i can't see how comparing a used license of LuSH-101, Dune 2, or Massive to a new license of Viper could be valid. A used license for Viper probably ranges in the 50 to 60 € region, so, IF you want to compare with used licenses, compare it with that. Or compare it with Sylenth1, which can do less that Viper, yet costs almost double the price.

I don't know what planet you're from, but not being able to understand that there is no such thing as used software is total nonsense. It's all the same, just different prices. a copy of sylenth for 50 bucks second hand is the exact same copy of sylenth on Lennard website. The only reason its cheaper is because the person want to get rid of it, not because its suddenly got worse over time.chk071 wrote:Well, i don't know which planet you are from, but, on earth, used software goes for 25-80 % of its new price. second- hand doesn't imply that its been degraded like the word "used" does, software can be second hand and its the same as a copy right from the original website. "used" implies that its worse after being sold again when its not.Elektronisch wrote:And you used "second hand" wich can have same meaningPyrotek45 wrote:lol the fact that you use the word "used" for software......chk071 wrote:Comparing used to new prices is never a good idea though. Sylenth1, for 50 bucks. Dream on.
Again, Viper will be 50-60 € used. Fact. Compare your used prices to that used price (if even, again, you should compare NEW prices to NEW prices...), and think again if Viper costs so much or not. BTW, asking, or waiting for a sale is absolutely valid, but, you're just arguing nonsensical here. If you think it's too expensive, then, don't buy it. But don't try to justify your ridiculous asking price. If you had any idea how tedious software development is, you surely wouldn't do so. I think Adam said that he developed the synth 3 years long. Still too much for you?

i don't understand your argument, you say that viper would be 60$ used??????? how is that copy any different from the one right from Adam's website? That doesn't make any fking sense! You pretty much just proved me right!chk071 wrote:Sylenth1, for 50 bucks. Dream on.![]()

That's only fair Adam! The price is totally valid imo.adamtrance wrote:I dont know man, I need every penny right now because I dont have a job, I spent all my saving to be able to create this synth for you guys. If this does not bring back my time that I invested, I have to quit for good, and there will be no more synths and soundsPyrotek45 wrote:Will there be any sales for this synth? I hate to ask so soon but 106$ is about 40$ bucks more than i was expecting. Not saying its not worth the asking price, but for someone like me with many other synths thats a hard sale.
Hopefully a sale comes so i can pick it up, it looks very cool.. 106$ is 40$ more too much? So my synth is only worth 66$? In euro thats €55, a Nexus expansion costs €60. Then Viper which is a full fledged synth which you can do so much with is worth less then a soundbank
(and please no one start the childish: yeah but its only 32bit so it only worth 10$. I have explained multiple times that 64bit is coming and it will be for free. I am one person doing all of this, it is extremely hard and time consuming, everything takes time.)
PS. The "many other synths" guy can drop a pizza or two..

Pyrotek, i invite you to buy my Sylenth1 license. I just checked the new price, and i would part with it for 165,41 €, special price for you. It's new anyway, so, i assume you want to pay the "new" price then, according to your arguments. You won't even notice it's not new.
You might want to read up a bit about economics though.

i have sylneth already, you're just too daft to understand anything anyways. But thank you for once again proving my point.chk071 wrote:Pyrotek, i invite you to buy my Sylenth1 license. The ONLY reason people sell their copies cheaper is no one will buy it from them at full price because they could just go to the original site and it get easier, so to get around this, they lower the price. even though its the exact same as the copy from the original website. is that to complex for you to understand?

Oh really? Well, that took you pretty long to get, but, finally, you seem to have gotten around to it.Pyrotek45 wrote: The ONLY reason people sell their copies cheaper is no one will buy it from them because at full price because they could just go to the original site and it get easier, so to get around this, they lower the price.
So, do you still think it is valid to compare used to new prices then? If your answer to that is yes, then i will immediately move out, because i'm wasting my time here with someone too stubborn to understand anything.

lol i like how you try and flip what ive been saying to something YOU have haha. yes its completely fair to compare prices when the products are the exact same.chk071 wrote:Oh really? whether a copy of something is 40 bucks at one place,30 bucks at another or 100 bucks on a particular site - if they're all the exact same piece of code, software bit for bit, ofc im going to compare it to the cheapest price.

It's somehow wrong because this is an one man project and not a product from a bloodless company. He did that as a labour of love and maybe you don't know that or simply don't care much about. Anyway, you come over very unsympathetic with your jabbering about the price first and foremost. That's the last thing he need now that his synth is finally released.

perhaps you're right. I didn't mean to be rude. however i didn't expect people to not give me the benefit of a doubt and assume ill intent. I was just curious is all.murnau wrote:@Pyrotek45
