Just got Tracktion, Win 10 64bit.
My Alesis V49 MIDI output shows "V49" and I can hear audio play when I strike the keys (using stuff like KORG MonoPoly software)...
For input, I selected the only available input of "MIDIIN2 (V49)"... When I go to record I get the message "Recording is only possible when at least on...
I have no idea what is going on here. Frustrated.
Any help is truly appreciated : )
Tracktion recording problem, "Input" device not detected...?

Have you also "armed" the track for recording? (The triangle right of where you select input should be red ">" ) Just click on it. You can't record unless at least one input is "armed" for recording. You can select inputs on tracks without recording them.

Thanks for trying to help. Yes, it's red.
I think the problem lies with the Alesis Editor software, it is crashing when I go to select the "input." ugh
I also posted this in the Alesis forums, maybe someone has an answer.

I'm not familiar with Alesis Editor, but if it's not a .vst plugin and instead it's running outside of Tracktion, you may not be able to have it and Tracktion running/using the same input at the same time?
If that's the case, try NOT running the Alesis and running Tracktion by itself...
