I'll be really happy when the MonoPoly gets a bigger UI, I'd use it a lot more if I could see it better.

I can confirm this bug. I use RME Fireface 800.T11 wrote:RME Fireface FF400 to be exact.T11 wrote:(Haven't read the whole thread)
Korg ARP Odyssey in standalone mode on Win10 seems to have problems switching to ASIO for some users.
It causes the app to crash.
How many here have experienced this?
UAD Apollo FireWire and RME Fireface are among the affected.
So could this be a Odyssey + firewire-issue?!
If you have a firewire-card and Win10, please try this out and post result here.

Has anyone tried the Arp installer on an OS X 10.9.5 Mavericks system ? The new Arturias are running great on 10.9 despite an OS X 10.10 requirement. The most recent Reaktor 6 update is also working well on Mavericks.

Wow. What display resolution and size display do you operate?BONES wrote:Actually, one of the things I like most about the KLC plugins is the size of their UI. It's close to perfect for me. Maybe you need to change the scaling on your computer? Or do all the over-sized UIs on other plugins make that non-viable?

He is probably at 1920x1080 resolution, like 90% of the others, but the 4k and beyond whingers are as loud as they can be...
To tell the world they've forked out for a newest fad monitor, to distinct themselves. It seems like everybody is @ 16876x8567 resolution already, judging by the whinging.
Most of the people just don't care. And that's the truth. I sure don't. I'm enjoying my 27" Dell monitor with 1920x1080 resolution for $300 and will enjoy it for years to come. Maybe 2 of them at some point.
I already have 2 monitors, with 2 computers and it's enough distraction as it is.

Even at 1080p, Korg plugins are not "perfect" GUI sizes at all. Those small pixel fonts are pretty hard to read, a bigger UI would definitely be much better.

They are barely bearable with my 27" 1920x1080 but they are perfect on the screen of my old laptop (1366x768). So that, I want to re-use that old one for old plugins, but anyway still the MS-20 scrolling is pushing my blood pressure up! I really hope they get rid of the scrolling!
Using: Cubase Pro 15, Reason 13, Tascam US-4x4HR, MODX6, DM12D, LaunchKey 49, Yamaha guitar(Pacifica 612v) and bass (BB234) and some virtual instruments and synths.

This, I can absolutely agree with. Who's incredibly stupid idea was that scrolling in MS-20!?EnGee wrote:They are barely bearable with my 27" 1920x1080 but they are perfect on the screen of my old laptop (1366x768). I think it was designed according to the monitor resolution at that time 1024x768, which was actually my monitor 15 years ago. But, I really don't understand! Are the musicians using iPad are much more than those using desktop?! I just think Korg 'hates' developing for desktop computers (maybe because of the piracy?!) I don't know really! Anyway, I hope their new protection works fine so they have a motive to continue developing for desktops/laptops!DuX wrote:This, I can absolutely agree with. Korg was using the eLicenser copy protection when they launched KLC. If they kept using that one, they would have probably had much less piracy (admitting that is indeed the problem). But there isn't basically any copy protection that safeguards anyone from piracy. Many other developers, with much less resources than Korg, survived with piracy, so, I don't believe that's the issue.EnGee wrote:I think it was designed according to the monitor resolution at that time 1024x768, which was actually my monitor 15 years ago. The issue is, most likley, that Korg doesn't have a developer team in-house, so, they have to sub-contract. Now that they have a bigger port-folio, and are already porting Gadget to the desktop (currently only Mac, but nevertheless), they may have thought that there was an oportunity to revive the old and neglected Korg Collection.
Indeed, the resolution of the current software was thought for displays with a resolution of 1024 x 768 which was the standard back then. At that resoltiuon, they have the right size. With the current standard of 1920 x 1080, they are indeed too small, but if Korg makes the GUIs bigger (like about 1500 x 1000), they will be perfect again for the current standard.

There's no such thing as a standard resolution. And even if one is the most popular among the "general population", that doesn't mean that it's the same for a specific target audience. Any form of production (Music, audio, photo, illustration, 3D, Video, ...) is often done on higher resolutions, for good reason.fmr wrote: Indeed, the resolution of the current software was thought for displays with a resolution of 1024 x 768 which was the standard back then. 1024 x 768 (17") is what I had in the 90s.
2000-2005: 1280x1024 (19"); and the KLC was already pretty small on that.
2005-2015: 1680x1050 (22'")

The reverb is really beautiful in this - sounds like a spring model?

When I said "standard" I was meaning the most usual, of course, not any kind of industry standard.T-CM11 wrote: ---2012-now / music production laptop: 1920x1080 (15,4") - KLC is almost unusable here.

Regarding you displays, they aren't the best for the kind of resolutions you are using in them, IMO. No wonder you find KLC unusable on them.
1920x1080 on a 15.4" display is way too small. Everything will look tiny, it's unavoidable. I'd say for that resolution, 17" is the minimum acceptable.
2560x1440 on a 27" display. Not so tiny, but still tiny, IMO.
A comfortable display size for a HD monitor (1920x1080) is between 21 and 24".
Regarding 2560x1440, opinions vary, but I would say that for that resolution, a 30" monitor would be more comfortable, although 27" displays with that resolution are pretty common. Anyway, the current KLC GUIs will look VERY small in 2560x1440, even in a 30" display, that's for sure (and much more so in a 27", of course).
