Not a bug report but a "how-to" or "can you" question about the multi-sampler.
If you drag in a bunch of samples (let's say a guitar sampled over 4 octaves on C, E, G, and B at three velocity levels ... so 48 wav files), is it possible to select several of those samples to adjust parameters simultaneously? I'd like to be able to stack them by velocity, but so far I have to choose each wave file and adjust the velocity range individually. Can I just grab a group of them (shift select doesn't work) and adjust the in and out velocities as a group? Also is there any way to set a velocity cross fade should I want the samples to overlap partially?
Seems basic so it makes me think that I may be fundamentally wrong about what the multi-sampler is supposed to be....?

Why references are not deletedFigBug wrote:Can you provide some more details? Which plugin is causing the issue? How are you noticing if resources are released or not? Is plugin in a rack?rosesbyrosex wrote:Resources not released when deleting a plugin and references are not being deleted in edit
i am using a plugin called heavier7strings (we will call it H7S) wich is a sample based guitar simulator, it has a huge library of samples (9 gb on disk), samples are loaded in ram and takes some minutes to load all the samples. so when i open the edit all sample based plugins start loading samples for example kontakt, H7S, Superior Drummer..etc.
1. I had an edit using H7S guitar plugin but started to try another guitar because H7S was using to much ram so i deleted H7S
2. Saved, closed everything and some hours later i reopened the song to make more changes
3. But the i noticed the same high ram usage in task manager like when the H7S plugin was present on the edit, so i thought that the plugin may was loaded in background even it wasn't anymore on my edit, so just to confirm that i added the H7S plugin to a track and it opened full loaded ( i mean not loading screen because samples were already loaded) that's the reason i say that the plugin reference was not deleted .
Why resources are not being released
If i load a plugin like izotope neutron on a track but no liked it and want to unistall from my computer, waveform wont let me unistall it, uninstaller will throw an error saying waveform is using the files, even if i delete the plugin from all tracks.
Also in the case of H7S, when deleting all of its plugin instances from the tracks, some may think the plugin should close and release ram resources but if i add it again to a track it will open with samples loaded instantly (no loading screen because the plugin is not being closed even if you delete all plugins from the tracks)

I've just clicked the button to hide the Chords track and I can't get it to unhide. I'll try again later and register it as a proper thingy.
Edit: I've tried to repeat this and can't, so I'll have to see if there's a sequence of actions involved.

Is this the tread to ask for small changes "features"? I would like to have a - and + button (like for selecting midi channel) to step up the program changes for the midi-track. I use a few old synths and it is a good thing not having to run around in the room to step up the patches to see what sounds best. As it is now opening up the meny and selecting a new preset takes many times longer than just stepping. And also it would be nice to have a "NO program change" option in the list to clear the programchange if it turns out easier to change on the synth.
Apart from that it I have hade the beta crash upon me some times and when it does I can not restart it at all until I have rebooted my whole PC. That is really huge crash.

Hi,
I'm really starting to get into Waveforms UI, the UX design just works for me. However I have to nitpick about the contrast of the piano roll view. I do love my dark themes however I just need more contrast between the notes and the background.
For example:
Competitors Waveform When zoomed out, things get even uglier: The former is much easier on the eye and more points for usability than the latter. An option for a lighter colour background would be fantastic.
Cheers,
Gavin

Just want to ask if anybody else felt the same about it cause I am not able to proof:
- I made a project with 8 tracks, mostly kontakt libs and some synths, nothing special even if 7 from 8 GB RAM used and I know that is on the border
- my premises are restricted compared to whats possible these days (old I-3, 8 GB RAM)
- but I just "feel" that this project should not bring waveform to its limits in case of cpu/crackles like it does actually
- I am sure I had similiar projects in WF 8 without these problems
I wanted to check and load the project in WF 8 but that dont work cause logically you cant open newer project in older program version.
So I just want to ask if someone else has same experiences ?

I'm wondering if its a system dependent issue because I loaded a pretty heavy project this morning to test out resource usage and I was actually impressed with how well it handled all of my plugins. I do know that this version, even in its beta stage, has been far more stable than previous versions of Tracktion/Waveform for me so far. I've tested out a lot of my plugins and have yet to have a blip or crash. This really excites me of course because that was my main gripe with previous versions. I'm feeling really good about the way Waveform 9 is working on my system right now (windows 10 64, i5 4600, 16 GB ram custom PC)
Windows 10 PC. Reason. Cubase. Waveform. Reaper. Studio One Pro. Epiphone Les Paul Pro II. Nektar Panorama t4. Yamaha RBX Bass. Faderport 2. Eris E5 Monitors. SSL2 Interface. Audient Evo 4. AKG C214. Aston Origin. MXL 990.

I agree with that. I seem to fiddle around with the colour schemes a lot but I never get enough contrast on the background grid.

The same problem with load in deletet VST in waveform 8 64 bit i have too. They tell in forum, simular. if there is such a bug then more should report. good that more report this with w9 and i hope waveform dev do not forget that i report it too so this is one more.ands i hope they look for it.rosesbyrosex wrote:Why references are not deletedFigBug wrote:Can you provide some more details? this problem i notice only on 64 bit waveform. 32 bit work. maybe on w8 nobody else report it because all use 32 bit. now that with w9 no 32 bit is here, all need use 64 bit, so more notice that
and btw the features they add in w9 in a year are very much and great. now i only need hope that it work better as w8 and at least such often used features work ok. when can download a w9 demo ?
