A happy new year to all you nice KVRians! Enjoy 2018!

seismic1, I really love your work! And this piece is no exception. Great track!

If I were asked for one thing, that potentialy could be improved, I would recommend to take a second look on the frequency balance: I think the high freq could shimmer a tiny µ more. It's a mostly emphasize on the mids...
Note: I'm just an amateur, who's writing what come to my mind.

Cheers

Nah, very nice. Nice melodies/harmonies and you resisted the temptation to do too much twiddling with the sinthesisers and thereby spoil it, as is often the case with these type of these things. Lovely.
Thanks for taking the time to listen and comment, DT. Glad you liked it :)
I sold my 12-string many years ago, but I hope to perform some Strat abuse later in the year.

No knobs were harmed in the making of this piece, and even less on the next one, as I recall

I have another "ambient" track due for release sometime around the end of April, and I've recently been working on remixes for my next album. I have a couple of other new rhythmic pieces on the go at the moment, although they're currently less funky, more clunky :ud:

Seismic Studios are humming. You've planned out your schedule until April? :o Do you have it all mapped out in MS Project?

Thanks again for the listen and the wonderful comments, sbj. Glad you enjoyed it, and glad you're enjoying these "softer" sounds as well as the beat-oriented stuff :)

I'm hoping to make a return to the older style sometime soon, but the new tunes that are emerging are considerably more difficult to frame/assemble in a way that sits comfortably with my earlier ideas. I need a bigger hammer.

There aren't really any HF sounds on here, except maybe the the Z3ta+2 synth that is routed via Shimmer. I kept that low in the mix deliberately, to offset the effect against the B2 'verb on the vox/flute. I may take another look at that later when part 3 is released at the end of April.

A Happy New Year to you :tu: (from another amateur  )

MS Project is a bit of a sore point in my line of work

I had a schedule worked out, and then the day job had other ideas. I haven't looked at a DAW for the last 4 weeks :(

Hi Tim, great work!

The thing with this kinda music is it always brings me back to Stargate Universe TV series. It has that soothing and darker atmosphere at the same time. This tune would've fit perfectly on that series, sadly it has been cancelled *sigh*

Anyway, again, great work, Tim, glad to hear your music again!

Best,
Adi/Thedeadsoul

Hi Tim,

Great track. Lovely sounds and very well put together. Love the way it gently swells and flows like a still pond. Your use of stereo is great too! The subtle vocals are a nice touch.

Cheers,

Nicely done. Great space. I love how the vocal sounds kind of emerge after around 4mins.
Sorry I didn't get to hear this earlier. Thanks for sharing!

I still haven't recovered from NBC cancelling the original series of Star Trek
