yes i like the more weird stuff, i got this jack dark collection which is excellent. All though i like basic stuff too, sometimes the more strange effects work more like a synth then an effect.imrae wrote:Seems like you're well set for basic modulation fx. Are you after mixing tools or weird stuff?

In addition to Unfiltered (Fault, Sandman Pro, Dent 2, SpecOps), Kaleidoscope might be of interest.
Also, if you don't have a good convolution reverb (true stereo helps with weird), you can do some pretty amazing things with IRs... or loading sounds that are not technically IRs.
Note - must check Daniel's new IRs from Westgate!

+1 ToneBoosters plugs.
I'm also fond of the Plug & Mix VIP bundle: http://www.plugandmix.com/products/b888-VIP-Bundle
Not all winners, but definitely some very useful plugs in there... modulation, basic verbs, eq's, saturators... I use the Dimension 3D plug ALL the time, and similarly for the Digital Reverb... and many times Clarisonix, Analoger, Liquid Air Q, Multi Tap Delay, Monster Boost, and several others. The only thing I would suggest is that I'm biased on the price. I picked up the bundle a few years ago for $99 on sale... if you can wait a few months for a sale and get it for 1/2 price or less, IMO a no-brainer. All the plugs are demoable...

VIP bundle is underrated imo. Especially for hobbyists or if you're just getting started with third-party plugins. Have you tried the rotary simulator? Also a fan of the Digital Plate and the Echoflex like you mentioned. Stereolizer gets a great result so quickly, it feels like cheating.kbaccki wrote:+1 ToneBoosters plugs.

I picked up my bundle here for $60.

Outstanding suggestion! Its way more fun, flexible and mind-expanding than a bunch of FX. But if you want FX, try the newly updated SoundHack set, and route them with Patchwork. That's what I do and its a great workflow.Tappistry wrote:Also, I'm gonna put up a vote for Blue Cat plugins. Between MB-7 Mixer, Patchwork, and Late Replies, you can create just about any sort of effect you can imagine.

But it seems to be severely lacking in sound samples, video walkthroughs, or demos. In fact, unless I'm totally blind, I can't find any on their site. I can tell it's a small developer, but the whole presentation of them in terms of marketing could be vastly improved.

PSP N2O is fairly weird, actually two of their delays can get weird also: PSP 608 and PSP85.
There are a lot of other weird delays, too.

OK, go demo tantra and good luck not getting it!
GlitchMachines Quadrant is 60% off at Plugin Boutique. Easy purchase.
Demo the Unfiltered Audio plugins from PA and pick them up on sale and using a voucher.
Edit - also demo Kaleidoscope and figure out if your computer can take it and then figure out how to afford it! Ha!
Done.
Rock.
PS - All the others have given great advice too!

Since you like weird stuff and have no problem with 32-bit only stuff made in Synth Edit (Jack Dark Collection), you might want to have a look at the de la Mancha and xoxos plugins too:zoogoo wrote: yes i like the more weird stuff, i got this jack dark collection which is excellent.
