Oh, all my loops are sampled via audio input straight to the daw, i dont use commercial libraries - so this is why my files usually are missing any meta datadRowAudio wrote:We did briefly but it's never really been a problem as most decent loop libraries come in WAV, AIFF or CAF formats and contain the appropriate metadata. As we read from all of these formats, we've not really run in to many reports of the tempo data not being found.
All format of samples to play in sync

Maybe you could add the root note, and speed meta data to the loop when you sample it in, before you add it to your library.

Think it does, if you set them on the loop properties tab of the clip. I could be wrong.

I think for syncing loops without tempo data all some DAWs do is look at how long the file is and decide based on that guess how many measures they are. If you had a 4 second file they might arbitrarily decide it's two measures long and time stretch based on that. If it plays back too slow or fast you just adjust the number of measures in the file info. Obviously this is a very simple hit and miss method but at least there's no advanced tempo detection algorithm to implement.
