Repro-5: launch bug (again) in Bitwig

So, I thought this had been squashed in the last 1.1 release, but I'm still having really weird issues. Yesterday I was comparing RePro-5's PWM sound to the Deepmind 12. (RePro's sounds rich and alive, while the Deepmind's sounds dead.
) The patch I made was super simple. One oscillator getting PWM modulated by a host synced triangle LFO. Made from an init. Anyway, I when I relaunched the project this morning, I found that I'd get a few notes out of it and then a crazy "pop" sound like it was putting out pure DC. Changing MC and HQ did nothing. Some presets seemed to make no sound at all. Others would behave like the above description. Removing the instance and putting it in fresh makes the problem go away.

Sorry, this one turned out to be much harder to track down and squash than we thought.
But it's high on the priority list for the next small bugfix update.
There is a high probability that the issue is linked to a problem with the LFO.
But I only found this clue the night before the update release.
That's why we weren't able to fix it in time for the 1.1 release.

Impossible. Uli Behringer has said he doesn't believe in VSTs. You must have been dreaming.zerocrossing wrote: Yesterday I was comparing RePro-5's PWM sound to the Deepmind 12. (RePro's sounds rich and alive, while the Deepmind's sounds dead.)
Although bizarrely some of his posts in the UBXA thread on gearslutz could have been written by Urs when he talks about the pointlessness of trying to match the performance of specific units of any analog synth. I'm not sure if he realises the delicious irony.

Huh, I haven't been following that thread, but that does sound funny. I'm not saying the Deepmind isn't without its charm, I'm just saying that it's PWM sound isn't one of them but there are plenty of ways to make it sound juicy with it's onboard effects. The resonance also makes the filter go sharp above a certain point, so that makes following the keyboard a problem with higher resonances. It's really a great value for the money, but some people talk about it as if it was up at the level of high end analogs, and it's not.bcm70 wrote:Impossible. I'll just add that today I started up the same project, and though I had been messing around with the patch and it was no longer the same, (I was now using the polymod to modulate the filter at audio rate) it loaded up perfectly. You've got your work cut out for you on this one!
