Isn't that the one where Bill Murray woke up day after day and had the same conversations with the same people???

What's your point :?: :?: :?: :?:

I've been following the development of tracktion 4 a while, and recently have read through this forum in great detail - as well as played with the tracktion demo very extensively. I am interested in tracktion as I utilise scope platform cards - so the hosts that i can easily use are limited by their pdc ability (as much as i like live, 4 instance, it is a pain using it with scope cards in xtc mode). I have to say that tracktion looks promising (I know other scope users who are of the same opinion), but is let down by seriously basic midi functionality. I know i could plug energyxt into it in order to utilise the superior functionality inherent in that program - but that is then introducing an added level of complexity, which is kinda against the point isn't it? - as one of the much vaunted aspects of tracktion is it's relative simplicity & 'one screen does pretty much all' approach. Anyway the point of my diatribe is that i would consider buying tracktion as is - and learning the feature set etc. IF there were more info/guarantee's etc. about T2 - and what would be included (personaly i would be looking for more midi transformation & editing - groove quantise etc.), but in the absence of that, and judging by the general mood of this forum i wouldn't. it's not that i don't want to waste the money (tracktion is a bargain price), but i certainly wouldn't want to waste the time & effort lerning the features etc. if i had no info on when the program would gain the functions which i personally would consider needful. btw - nothing against tracktion here - it seems good at what it does, but i would definately need to know that it was definately going to do more before investing my time in it.

bit more playing around - and what i have done is to render midi files i want to apply a groove2 and then import them into reason (i have basically been playing with tracktion as a rewire host) and then apply the groove quantise in reason - exported & reimported - seems 2 work ok-ish. I use dr. rex a fair bit and get my grooves from rex files - which is why i personally believe groove quantisation 2 be an important function

OK Mod, the groundhog ref is very sly and wry, but I think I get it.

Yeah it's weird the way the whole T2 discussion keeps looping and regenerating itself. The topic that won't die...Maybe it's like working off Kharmic debt or something -- you repeat the same lessons in each successive lifetime, until you finally "get it". Or not.

Well, I'm sorry if some people are tired of hearing about people wanting T2 to come out. And I'm sorry if my thread has agravated anyone further. However, I'm not sorry for posting it, as I feel it's just a polite request for a sign of life.

Yeah, I "get it." But hey, I'm allowed to wonder what's going on. No harm meant.

No harm at all, but; I just wonder... How soon did we forget about Mackie giving us an upgrade with FREE $399 Final Mix thrown in for free... Obviously they are not ready yet to release T2, but are very aware how anxious we all are about it. Personaly I'm prepared to wait patiently rather than getting bug filled unfinished version 2... Just my 2 cents
Kind Regards,
Leslie.

Ok, I'll stop my groundhog's day joke.. I knew #4 would be the kiLLeR... BTW, while being sarcastic, it was justt... a joke. It made me laugh every time I posted it so I got a bit self indulgent.. cause I kept thinking about Bill Murry's face when he'd wake up with the alarm clock blaring, realizing his day was repeating all over again. Finally he goes nuts, then relaxes into acceptance. Halarious! haha! People in this thread are in different states of Murry's life in that movie. Juxtaposition.

Can't speak for anyone else, but don't take a single post from me with any seriousness... just poking a bit of fun at the never ending quest for info.. trying to lighten up the mood a bit, inject bad humor and what not. :D

Apparently there's a new feature in Tracktion 4 where you can turn off speculation about future versions.

OK folks... As has been stated over and over...

MACKIE HAS A STRICT POLICY AGAINST ANNOUNCING UPCOMING PRODUCT RELEASE DATES AND FUTURE FEATURES!

How many times do we have to keep bringing this up? Stop asking when!!! Start asking them to change their strict policy... :P

Post

So with all of this in mind, jules can you post to say when its coming out? Also we would like a detailed list of features that we can and will expect. We bought your product, so pay us back. Now.

I think Mackie should make an announcement that reaffirms their strict policy against announcing upcoming product release dates and future features.

C'mon Mackie! Tell us that you're not going to tell us, so that we can then be reassured that you're not going to tell us and we can start speculating about Tracktion 5 (Tracktion 4 is old hat by now, as I am sure you all know)

Gosh, and there was me thinking that maybe T6 was featured in Groundhog Day and that perhaps that movie was actually a science fiction thing and was weirdly prescient on the future of sample based music software.
