Couldn't wait to hear this one, the workflow is a lot better thought out than others

Yeah.... that's the next step. The "unboxing" was successful in that I didn't feel it was a waste of time - there is something there worth looking at in more details. Mainly, how does it compare to other strips and tools.jbarish wrote:Plex, how does it compare to other channel strips??
As I mentioned in the video, which is now up on youtube, I want to audition it on my monitors and try out some other channel strips to see if it offers anything new. I think it does based on my first look at it.
The gate seemed pretty "musical" and pre added some nice heft. The EQ seems very versatile. Unsure about the compressor and desser as of yet. The workflow is pretty nice.
I wish all the modules had input and output gains. some do but not all which makes it a bit harder to work with for gain staging through the signal flow.
The ability to put different channel modes on each module is excellent (stereo, duo, and especially MS!). The larger interface in the channel window is also very nice.

Here's some confusion.
The product page on Waves' site says"

However in my testing all that can be instantiated in the insert is another Omni Channel module. And the manual says this:If that’s not enough, Scheps Omni Channel features an insert slot that can be positioned anywhere in the chain, where you can insert an additional Waves plugin of your choice, including an extra instance of any of the Scheps Omni Channel modules.
So it appears the product page is incorrect as I see no way to select an arbitrary Waves plugin. I've emailed Waves about this inconsistency. Am I mistaken?Insert Plugin Slot
You can add one plugin in the channel strip to provide additional, specific plugin processing. To insert a plugin, click the plus (+) sign at the top of the slot and select a plugin from the menu. This allows you to, for instance, add a second EQ module so you can have one before and one after dynamics processing, or double-compress a signal.

49$???? 44$????
Hummmm
Then the plugin will be the sum of
saphire (distor)+ api/SSL/V (EQ)+Deesser(classic)+cla76/cla2a/SSL (COMP)+ssl cannel gate (GATE)+l2 (limit).
I think is the same of always!

Hm, it worked fine for me. I was able to add H-Reverb without issues.plexuss wrote:Here's some confusion.

I could only choose SOC "plugins" too - I hadn't updated my other waves plugins to the latest version though, so I wonder if doing that will let me use them within SOC.plexuss wrote:Good to know! Only Waves plugins available at the inserts? I thought you could add any plugin.hivkorn wrote:plexuss wrote:I am trying to set up a live stream on youtube to take a look at the Omni Channel. Should be here:
Sigh, if this is true then it severely diminishes the appeal to me.
I also hate the damn Waves Central thing and the bloat. Much prefer the way Plugin Alliance plugins and installs work.

I can answer my own question - just updated them all to 9.92 and now all my other waves plugins are listed in the SOC plugins list.
