The tough part about making a great channel strip is that making every component top notch. Otherwise anyone can daisy chain multiple plugins these days to make their own channel strip. I hope Waves managed to do just that.

Damn.. had to buy this one. Got it down to 31 euros from everyplugin.com with the YNY23 discount code so it became a no-brainer. I also successfully got it working in Reaper without issues so I pulled the trigger.
Really like the compressors, all 3 of them. Amazing value for money even if I would only end up using those.

Really easy to use, sounds great, bought after 5 mins , really spectacular . Also unlike recent Waves plugins really low CPU usage , maxed it out with everything on at 8% of core on an old 3.33 6 core Mac Pro. Most of the time 4%. Also being able to insert another Waves plugin anywhere in the chain is genius.

I had to update my Waves plugins and now they also show up in the insert menu. thanks for the tips to do that update!
I am going to do another short live stream with Omni. I have a synth sound that really shows off what Omni can do. I'll post the link at about 9pm EST and do the stream at around 9:15

From a live stream I did, where I use Omni to "sculpt" the sound of a synth arp using Omni. It has a nice tool set, workflow and sound. It's nice for transient shaping and molding a sound.

I actually love the Scheps modded 1073. It seems thought that there is some mystery behind what this one is though. It sounds like it is an original digital design and not based on some custom Sheps hardware rack.

Behind the scenes I expect Waves are using a combination of existing models — with custom parameters defined by Scheps. Either way I'm enjoying using Omni. I'm finding it to be a great creative toolbox.

I'm a bit confused about the de-essers. Does the filter selection on the GUI affect the detector, the gain reduction, or both? The manual refers to them as "sideband filters". It seems to imply that these only do wideband "gain reduction", but that would make it pretty-much useless to have two of them.

In this demo, the Gate and the DS2 were the most interesting, easy GUI and excellent sounding.plexuss wrote:From a live stream I did, where I use Omni to "sculpt" the sound of a synth arp using Omni. It has a nice tool set, workflow and sound. It's nice for transient shaping and molding a sound.
I don´t mean anything wrong with the other modules, but impressed me most in THIS presentation, with this sound material.

I don´t know how do you get the above price. Dealer prices shouldn´t be country-dependet (especially when we are located in the same country).

Given the depth of their product line, I think it would be hard for them to do any plug without bumping into work they’ve already done. That said, taking the low shelf of the EQ for example, the “boost/atten” curve setting reflects Mr. Scheps interest in Pultec plugins (with the atten at ~1Khz), as opposed to the more dramatic Gerzon curves of the Renaissance EQ.db3 wrote:Behind the scenes I expect Waves are using a combination of existing models — with custom parameters defined by Scheps.
