Hey there,

Am a n00b to Biotek but I recently installed it but cannot see any of the presets or tags (see image). I cant seem to load any presets either.

Any ideas? Do I need to save the .dll to c/programs/stienberg/vst or c/programs/vst?

Using Windoze 10 64bit

Thanks in advance

It sounds like you haven't installed the content?
When you ran BioTek the first time, did the download manager appear? Try clicking the "Global" button in the top right and then "Check For Updates" to show it.

You should then see an item called "Tracktion BioTek Content v3.0.0", download that and run the installer when it completes.

Let us know how that goes. Dave

I'm not the OP, but would like to say that doing this allowed me to apparently download the sample content. However, the synth appeared the same after deleting and re-instantiating, and after quitting my DAW and relaunching.

It turns out that selecting "download content" in the synth doesn't actually install the content. It just downloaded the 'content installer' to my Downloads folder. After running THAT, and then deleting and re-instantiating the plugin, the factory presets were usable.

Also, you need to DOUBLE-click to select a preset, unlike what you might think. At first, I was wondering why everything sounded like the same sitar with stuttery beats. This is why.

I would normally click "Global" to set MIDI channel, output level, stereo/mono, input and output, etc. It wouldn't have occurred to me that that's where the missing sample data and preset information could be found, and it wouldn't occur to me that after choosing to install content that I would have to find the installer and install it myself. Perhaps something for future versions to make more clear. Even a "please locate the content installer and launch it to actually install the content you just downloaded" would be a big help.

Anyway, thanks for the info, and hopes this helps folks in future!
