my feature request :

i know, that MuTools is small developer, but for me (and I belive not only for me) are very important this features :

1. Rewire SLAVE mode - this is very very important !!!

2. VERY basic audio editing - simple graphic - based fadein and fadeout, crossfade, split ..

3. not feature, but very important - good video in-depth course - mainly for MUX

I love MuLab´s concept, simplicity and workflow .. good luck and thanks for your hard work

I'm sorry but, to be honnest with you, chance is almost zero that this will be implemented.
If it is about using MuLab with another DAW i will rather choose to make MuLab also available as a VST plugin.

You can do fade-in/out, xfade automation, splits, ... in MuLab's composer, that's non-destructive.

VST would allow Audio, MIDI and Automation control just like MUX already has. The only add on, on top of MUX, would be an extra UI layer with tracks (like the host DAW), a mixer (like the host DAW) and a time-line sequencer (like the host DAW). The time-line sequencer would also be slaved to the host time-line to be useful. You can do some of this already with MUX, just you need the host DAW to trigger sequences in a MUX Sequence Player module with that sequence then triggering the other sequences at the points you want them.

Don't we already have this as MUX? I'm not sure I see the benefit in having MuLab's sequencing capabilities in another daw. Personally I've always found rewiring or running daws within other daws very cumbersome. For me, MUX is a way better solution. I'd be interested to hear from those who disagree and their reasons.

EDIT: I just read pljones post which pretty answers my question. Personally I can't see a scenario where I'd use MuLab as a VST over MUX, but maybe others would welcome MuLab VST. Also, wouldn't implementing that potentially harm MUX sales? Or is stopping MUX development and combining them into the one product a possobility?

I'd like MuLab as a vsti just because it is soooooo easy to get project started. I'd like to load MuLab in Samplitude create a work and with samplitudes routing its easy to send/record output of MuL vsti to a new track to use the best bits of samplitude. No one DAW is best at everything. I just love the simplicity of the "compose" and "edit" sections in MuLab, they have less restrictions on "creativity" and at this time I start in MuLab and finish in samplitude or studio one3. I dont know how much work making MuLab a vsti would take and I dont know how profitable it would be, but it could be a paid "extra" to a standard MuLab. I also think it would be good business practice for Jo to have add-on's to increase his revenue. What do you think? Would anyone else you uses more than one DAW find it usefull? I may well be just talking out of my rectum

But having MuLab as a VST would get you nowhere here -- a VST is a slave to the timeline in the host sequencer. To be a master, it needs to be the host - hence why, as has been said, MuLab is a rewire host.

I do that, as midi files but have to make a text file as well to note instrument/preset settings, its time consuming. Not used rewire so can't coment, but I cant see any advantage over being able to load MuLab vsti, with Fx externaly in recieving track, then recording the midi output to that track . Flicking from one track to another in a DAW is easyer than exporting a track and rebuilding synth/fx it again I dont like stream to wave as its finished,,, cant change midi info/arrangement. Its mainly the ease and frexibility of the composer + edit sections I miss in other DAWs. It was just a thought. I will see if I have time to look rewire.

You can do that with MUX, though - well, in the only way a VST can slave to its host. You put your sequence into a MUX sequence player, trigger it from the host and record the MUX output in the host.
