For the tarball which is not gzipped, I've just checked and it seems that it looses its encoding while being served from the web server... I guess the web server sets the content encoding to gzip, and just "cat" the file.

Using Bitwig 8 Track V1.35 in pclinuxos,
with lxde window manager, build V6987 of R1 and R5 are working.
Initial click in the preset browser takes
a slow slip and swallow of hot coffee to activate,
clicking on a folder or preset
from the browser pane takes about 2 seconds to open
the target, after that, vertical and horizontal
scrolling among sounds with arrow keys is quick/normal.
Good progress!

Repro-1-6987 on Fedora 27 and Reaper 571 pre15 x86_64 = Still no GUI when docked, and then black GUI when floated in VSTi and VST3i :( Also, when closing the floated window it crashes Reaper.

Are these builds being tested on Reaper? These 751 pres are meant to have the IRunLoop needed.

I don't quite understand what is going on with these pres, are they meant to be working in anything other than Bitwig?

Thanks.

I've sent some feedback to the reaper dev, I think they are missing an xcb_aux_sync() call before doing the embedding, and because of that they ask me to attach to a window id which is not yet known by the x11 server. I'm waiting for an answer from them.

Also regarding the gtk/mir issue, does anyone feel like doing a bug report to gtk or mir devs? :D

with recent reaper, 571 r15, I get a blank screen, interference with
smoothe graphics on the same desktop, and in the terminal that launched reaper,
this error propagates:

xcb_shm_put_image: BadDrawable

until I close the terminal.

Cheers

Is this a typo? Is there a 6987 of R5 or did you mean Zebra2?

Greetings,

I installed Bitwig 2.3 b2 this morning and ran some brief tests with v6897 for Zebra2, Repro1, and Repro5. Everything works, including pop-up menus, and there's little to no lag when selecting and moving controls.

I also tested the VST3 versions of Diva and both Repros. Excellent performance from Diva, and subjectively I'd say that performance was better for the Repros as well.

Repro5 is simply a heavy-hitter here. It does best when I reduce the number of voices to 3 or 4, with Multicore On. Again, the VST3 version produced fewer xruns.

CPU is an AMD FX6300 6-core, 3.5 GHz. With 16G memory, btw.

Well done, abique ! Kudos also to the Bitwig team, I'm digging the latest beta.

Best,

dp

Indeed I was wondering about that. I guess disabling that in Apache would help, and save U-HE some bandwidth.

I would gladly submit a bug report, however without some source they devs can look at the bug report will be just ignored.

Some ubuntu users have requested the removal of the MIR backend for 18.04, that would solve the bug, otherwise Ubuntu users will have to manually select the backend [or some code in `dialog` should ignore mir].

Hello, can someone explain: is the latest build only for zebra and repro-1? I keep getting lost in this thread. Maybe it's my intelligence faulty, that's possible :) But please can anyone confirm whether the latest available build for Diva is 6857, or if not, a link to the latest one? Version 6857 occasionally UI-freezes for me.

Thanks

Vincenzo

Here is a new build:

http://uhedownloads.heckmannaudiogmb.ne ... 987.tar.gz

It fixes the tag browser painting, and now zebra2 shows proper gradients in the wave editor.

Cheers,
Alex.

Another reference to Repro-5 v6897.
I have gone through the many posts in the last few weeks and am not able to find a link to a recent version of Repro-5.

I must be loosing my mind.

Can some repost the link for me?

I have also witnessed a strange UI freeze [only the piano keyboard] in Repro-5 6987, it goes away thou if closing/opening the UI. Using BW 2.3beta2

ejgallego: yes but please can you tell me what's your latest Diva? :)

In the meantime, I've tested the menus fix and it works if I change the "dialog" shell script in the unpacked tarball before running "install.sh". Does not work if I edit that script in the .u-he/Diva directory. That script does not appear to be called. Who knows where the script is copied and used. However, I would push for GDK_BACKEND to be set in that script anyway. Indeed it can harm if there are other relevant backends. But if that is extremely unlikely one could at worst edit by hand the file again.

vicenzoml, Diva seems indeed stuck in 6857.

I dunno about the scripts, I can edit ~/.u-he/$plugin/dialog and things work for me, but note that my contents of ~/.vst3 are symlinks.
