Not sure if it is accurate, but I read a while back that you have to keep using the vouchers to keep receiving them. I have absolutely no idea if this is correct but you have nothing to lose by using it...OneOfManyPauls wrote:Is there any benefit to using the voucher to buy bx-tuner if you have it already vs just letting it expire?

The only benefits I would see would be to give you the ability to have 3 more active installs which could help if you hit the 7 deactivation limit or need to have the plugin installed and active on more than 3 computers.OneOfManyPauls wrote:Is there any benefit to using the voucher to buy bx-tuner if you have it already vs just letting it expire?
(But you could always open a support ticket if you hit the deactivation limit.)
“Free” plugins usually are not allowed to be transferred (but I believe it’s a manual check on PA side) and do not count towards the vouchers you receive since it’s based on actual spend.

My usual paranoia causes me to wonder if this month's PA deals and vouchers are perhaps a way for them to separate out people who are willing to actually spend money on their plugs, as opposed to just sucking up freebies. And then thin the herd a bit using that data...

No. I used the last ten vouchers always on $19 stuff.. ..got 10 plugins for free.. ..still get my $25 every month.GreyLion wrote:My usual paranoia causes me to wonder if this month's PA deals and vouchers are perhaps a way for them to separate out people who are willing to actually spend money on their plugs, as opposed to just sucking up freebies. Whoever wants music instead of noise, joy instead of pleasure, soul instead of gold, creative work instead of business, passion instead of foolery, finds no home in this trivial world of ours.

Thinking about picking up Melda MCompare. Seems to be a heavy hitter in terms of features for mastering comparison. Anything else similar/better worth investigating?

I had my eye on Mastering the Mix “Reference” for quite a while now but that thing refuses to go on sale. I might pick up MCompare instead.Tappistry wrote:Thinking about picking up Melda MCompare. Magic AB is very barebones though. Did not get much use out of it.Nobdi wrote:You might also want to try Magic AB ... goes on sale (~50%) pretty often too.

I'm using Reference since months and must say it's really great. It does more than Magic AB, can't say what it does better in comparison to MCompare but Reference has a great workflow, had my problems with Melda though

I fiddled with MXXXCore, but I'm not sure if the Melda interface is gelling with me much for regular use mixing plugins.mgw38 wrote:I had my eye on Mastering the Mix “Reference” for quite a while now but that thing refuses to go on sale. Though I think for the frequency with which I'd use MCompare, I wouldn't mind it as much.

Yeah, that's kinda my point... The vouchers have really bought them a huge mailing list and a lot of notice in our little community. But they need to get some money in eventually. If their data reveals people who simply won't give them any money, they may be ready to move on to a new marketing phase. If nothing else, this month may be a sign of times to come -- you get a discount, but not so much in the way of freebies. Like I said, I'm paranoid... I like those vouchers myself.murnau wrote:No. I guess we'll see. But this cycle was unlike all the others that came before it.
