While this and everything you said is true, I was still dissapointed because there are still some foundimental features missing and also maybe because Apple and Avid announced pretty good updates to be honest. But well, that's me only. Still mad props to Presonus!garryknight wrote:Some of these were show-stoppers for some users.Riansky wrote:Don't tell me you wans't a bit dissapointed that they only announced 3.5.5 update and not 3.6 or something.

Yeah, MIDI improvements (Take Cubase as example), Proper sampler ( I'm not paying 80€ for presence editor that should be open to everyone), More detailed waveforms (Not really a feature but you get the point), Retrospective MIDI ( Pro Tools just got it, Ableton 10 will when its released) Full screen (I mean, come one). That's just from the top of my head.kevvvvv wrote:Riansky

Yeah I know I could go and use another daw proably, but in terms of workflow I still think S1 beats everything.

Holy shmoly. Would you be willing to pay the dozen of additional developers they'd need for that?Riansky wrote:Yeah, MIDI improvements (Take Cubase as example), Proper sampler ( I'm not paying 80€ for presence editor that should be open to everyone), More detailed waveforms (Not really a feature but you get the point), Retrospective MIDI ( Pro Tools just got it, Ableton 10 will when its released) Full screen (I mean, come one). I actually don't think the Studio One devs are more than a dozen, are they?

If you compare S1 developement vs Reaper or Logic one must wonder what the hell those devs are doing. Drinking coffee maybe? I love S1 workflow but I don't trust the company anymore.

Funny that you think bugfix updates are the only things the devs are working on.
I guess, before they release version 4 of Studio One, they just snip with the finger, and it's magically all coded, ready for release then. Of course, they are already working on that as well.
You may also present me the last update of Reaper, where as many things were changed as on the Studio One 3.5 update (and i don't mean the gazillion of tiny changes they do on most updates, which you most probably won't even notice). I think you'll have to get back as far as the version 4 Reaper update for that though. If Studio One development is slow (yes, it's slower than Cubase), then Reaper is developing in snail speed.

I don't have to stop using software but I'm really considering to not buy the next release (I've been using S1 from v1).beatmangler443 wrote:Then stop using Studio One then.Andreas71 wrote:If you compare S1 developement vs Reaper or Logic one must wonder what the hell those devs are doing. What would you expect them to implement in version 4, so you would be motivated to buy it?
For me, i think the main issue ATM is the GUI. It's not bad, mind you, but, i really think it could be better. When i take a look at the GUI in v2, i even see advantages in that, because it simply seemed more clear, and manageable for me. Actually, i'm pretty positive they know that though, and, even though i don't expect a complete overhaul, i'm quite confident that they will fine tune it. Further, i'd like them to get rid of the different types of MIDI surfaces, and let you set up one MIDI surface, which can be - instrument, keyboard, or anything else, with support for MIDI clock etc. Also, i'd like an update for Impact, to be able to load layers of samples e.g. Apart from that, i'm pretty happy with S1 as it is.

I'm quite pleased with the GUI. Maybe there could be more contrast between different elements and track icons maybe but those things are minor to me. I'm very comfortable with GUI. What bothers me is slow development. Don't get me wrong. I really like to work with S1 but there is many issues that needs to be fixed. CPU usage is still an issue especially with VST instruments. And what comes features S1 can't rival Cubase and Logic. I'm on Mac and my main daw is still Logic but I hope that someday I can switch to S1. There is much to love in S1 and nowdays Apple HW is too expensive and crippled that I would like to get rid of Apple HW.chk071 wrote:What would you expect them to implement in version 4, so you would be motivated to buy it?

Competition is hard in daw realm and I really hope that S1 can keep up in development.
