Hi, this is my first post here at kvr... i did came here to read stuff a thousand times, but finally i got myself a account to ask a question... please excuse my not perfect english, i`m not a native speaker...

i bought a the "Classic House Chords" diva preset pack from plughugger and i like it very much ... but i`m a little bit desperat: how to find out the tuning of the chords...

most (all? maybe) are kind of one note chords... stacked detuned voices (?)... i play one note, and diva gives a beautiful chord stab... but how to find out if major or minor or supended etc. .... i know i have to understand diva and some music theory for that... and i`m willing to do that, but maybe you have some useful advice for this?!

Thanks in advance!

Basically i want to write some tracks with them... and i like to know with what exact chords i`m working... ahh, whatever, you know what i mean...

Post

Just see the values of voice detuning, you get semitone values from there. With that info you can construct which chord it was.

Thank you evil dragon for the almost instant reply... :) i just read it after i typed the following!
(so, same as your advice)

... i just figured it out myself ... on the trimmers page there is the "Stack Tune" ... the values are semitones... 3 semitones minor third... 4 semitones major third... so with a little bit of music theory on board i can now identify all the chords, yeah

PS: sometimes it is not as difficult as one expects it to be...

You can also use analyser tools like Spiral to figure out the chord.

Here we have a 0, +3, +7 chord (minor triad).

oh, that looks interesting will look into that as well... and thanks for the tip with cutting out the highs and lows with eq

--- i will check the demo, the full version is a bit too expensive with 83 €

i just came back here after testing the demo to say: spiral is a awesome awesome tool! :tu: (and the demo restrictions are actually not really a problem, making a second chain for example in live solves the audio dropout problems)

don`t get me wrong, i like supporting good software developers, but 83€ is at the moment to much, but i will instantly buy it if there will be a update in the future... i think this version is from 2015

Perhaps HoRNet SongKey mk2 could be a alternative?...and a cheaper one. (note, they do flash sales quite often)

hmm, from the screenshot, i think i like spiral much more... but thanks anyway.
Basically i think it would not make much difference for me to have spiral full version... it works great like this...

I'm using the magware (CM) version. Don't know if there is any difference to the demo version.
