Live 10 - preferences when i zoom in to 200% everything is super clear and crisp and i like it but when 200% is active i don't see 10% bottom of Live screen. Running live in fullscreen isn't helping either. Not biggie i am just testing and just asking is it only me or?
Great release everything seems snappier.

That's why I passed on it. I'm happy with my 9 Suite for the moment.bundoo wrote:this upgrade is waaaaaaaay too expensive

Yes, I get this problem. It seems that there is a minimum size for the Live window below which it cannot be resized. Zooming up to 200% blows this up beyond the size of my monitor and I can't even resize it down to fit on the screen. Running full screen doesn't work either. (This is on Windows 7.)kmonkey wrote:Live 10 - preferences when i zoom in to 200% everything is super clear and crisp and i like it but when 200% is active i don't see 10% bottom of Live screen. I guess it's just a limitation of the GUI elements in that they can't be shrunk down below a certain size.

That's a lot of aaaaa's... so I did some math to see what you mean:bundoo wrote:this upgrade is waaaaaaaay too expensive
Live 8 out for 47 months before Live 9 launched.
Live 9 out for 47 months before Live 10 launched.
So, following the same logic and assuming that Live 10 will be out for 47 months before Live 11:
If someone purchased Live 8 Suite when it launched at close to full price for $749, they would have paid an average of $191/yr.
Then, once they upgrade to Live 9 Suite for $240 their new annual payment would adjust to $61/yr.
In my case, I bought Live 9 Suite "used", which I presume most penny pinching KVRers would do. The numbers worked out to $145/yr for the first 3 years, then $61/yr after the launch of Live 10.
Those numbers are FAR higher than what I consider to be one of the best values in any industry (Reaper @ ~$17/yr), but I also don't consider it to be expensive for what is provided. I also own Cubase 8.5 but haven't upgraded at what amounts to $80/yr (not that Cubase doesn't provided value, but that it has more in common with my primary DAW and therefore not as much value to me).
My take on upgrades in general, whether it be S1, Bitwig, Cubase, etc... is that those companies have to keep the lights on. If they were all as inexpensive as Reaper they'd probably cease to exist (not a good thing).

Does Ableton offer a discount at the barbershop they recruited for this ad?

I ended up buying it just two hours before the official e-mail announcement. Phew! I backed up my Ableton Documents directory (Windows), so my projects, instrument racks, effects, etc. Any other directory I should back up?
Price-wise, what helped me is I upgraded from Standard to Suite. I've wanted Sampler and Max for Live anyway. When I looked up and noticed an upgrade from Standard 8 to Standard 9 was $200 ($160 if you look around), it made even more sense for me to do the Suite upgrade now.
