it is expensive to upgrade but they will possibly support live 10 for 4 years like they did with live 9 so I think it balances out the pricemostlyjustj wrote:This. For Suite owners anyway. If you're having issues with the fonts, try the HDPI switch. Also, if it's the menus and you're scaling Windows, then change the display scaling compatibility settings for the .exe. Not putting this out there as a sure fix, but it worked for me at 1920*1200 scaled to 125%.

Also, Max For Live itself can do 3D, if you want more than just control the DAW.
Can do Deep Learning AI too.

I don't think this upgrade is much more expensive than previous upgrades, and given that they tend to continue development and offer free updates (as they did with 7, 8 & 9) it seems fair to me. I worked out that I've spent less than £1000 on Live over the years ... not too bad imhoSg1122 wrote:it is expensive to upgrade but they will possibly support live 10 for 4 years like they did with live 9 so I think it balances out the pricemostlyjustj wrote:This. Thanks, I tried the HDPI switch already but no effect, and I'm running windows scaled at 100%. I guess I'll just have to file this under occupational side-effects, most users probably won't even notice. Or get a new monitor with more pixels.jonljacobi wrote:If you're having issues with the fonts, try the HDPI switch. It is quite expensive and almost like a 4 yearly tax payment but I agree that at the end of the day the lights have to be kept on.
I'd probably buy an alternative if it wasn't for Max4Live. Far too many fascinating toys to play with.
Upgraded with a few hours to spare.

You can grab any and all themes from previous versions and add them to the latest version (it requires digging around via your OS, but it's do-able).
I use the Live 8 theme, which I love. I hate everything since that one.

Man thanks for that info! I didn't know previous skins are compatible with Live 10. That's really good to know, as I have a pretty nice collection of skins that I really like, mostly from Sonic Bloom.mholloway wrote:BrokenTrance wrote:They removed themes it seems. I liked frost....

I could do with a new one and the cheapest 27" I can find is ~£140.
My suite upgrade was £183

No, it's not you. Ableton changed the fonts.
Looks great on small screens but go 28 and above and you have to have perfect vision to work.
Many users asked Ableton to fix that. They ignored.
Main reason (for the first time) I will not be upgrading.

Great release everything seems snappier.

Stop whining about the price! It's just a subjective matter of worth.
This is a great upgrade with A LOT of useful additions beyond your standard bells-n-whistle-bullshit! Just like Avid, Ableton prefers solid evolution of their products, which personally I welcome very much.
So, if it's not for you, just skip it and let the rest of us enjoy the new features.

I love the Sonic Bloom themes also, and they work in 10 (there are a few wonky bits but some of that is leftover going from 8 to 9 where some border colors changed, etc.).Neon Breath wrote:Man thanks for that info! Such a shame Ableton ignored so many beta testers on this issue.

I actually find the text slightly irritating to my eyes.
