Yes, I did a video on it several years ago when it was first launched in T6:instred wrote:Did Tracktion every do a video demonstrating Javascript?

There was also a much shorter teaser version of the video:

Thx for the new beta...
I´ve seen, that you added 9th chords... Now that we´ve got all kinds of classical and jazzy stuff, may I ask to implement open chords (3rd transposed 1 octave up) and extended open chords (3rd transposed 1 octave up and the root doubled to 1 octave below) to have some newer styles to use in EDM...
Or even better, any chance to be able to add my own chords to the list???
One thing I still did not understand for the Pattern Generator thingy: Is it correct, that as soon as I change something manually to the chords, this whole story (bass line and melody follow the chords) doesn´t work anymore...???

Where are the new circuit modeled plugins???
Quote from the manual page 518:
Quote from the manual page 518:
This is sadly the only place, where they are mentioned...New built-in circuit modeled plugins for rack design: Diode Clipper, Voltage Divider, Low-
pass Filter, High-pass Filter, Triod CCT Amplifier

Do you have any references for open/extended chords? My theory is a bit weak, and what I'm finding doesn't match your description?Trancit wrote:Thx for the new beta...

I think I'll add support for custom chords, since I'll never be able to add ever single chord everybody wants.
Whatever clip you manually change will no longer follow the pattern generator, other clips still will. The clip will now show a chord on it next to it's name if it's following the cord track. You can enable 'auto update' to discard your changes and start following the chord track again. So far, it' been too hard for me to figure out what changes the user is made and then how to re-apply them when the clip gets updated.

I don´t know the exact naming... I stumbled first over that with Reason´s Players introduced with Reason 9...FigBug wrote:Do you have any references for open/extended chords? My theory is a bit weak, and what I'm finding doesn't match your description?
They called it "Open Chords" and after looking deeper at i.e. midi files of "famous" dance chords, it was pretty clear, that this typical sound came from a transposed third...
It´s shown here in the video:
I mean, judge yourself... simple chord progression in F minor... first 8 bars "normal", second 8 bars "open chord with the root doubled to one octave down":

No offense...I think I'll add support for custom chords, since I'll never be able to add ever single chord everybody wants.
Thx for explaining it... somehow my brain resists from understanding this whole Pattern generator topic even if I like it very muchWhatever clip you manually change will no longer follow the pattern generator, other clips still will. You should be able to pull chords out to 4 bars? Same with chord/bass presets?Trancit wrote:No offense..., but this script would be really cool... perhaps with raising the maximum length to 2 bars instead of one.... (duck)....

True... now as you say it... when was this changed????FigBug wrote:You should be able to pull chords out to 4 bars? Same with chord/bass presets?Trancit wrote:No offense..., but this script would be really cool... perhaps with raising the maximum length to 2 bars instead of one.... (duck)....

I only remember, that it was limited to 1 bar....

One thing about the CPU usage Meter:
As the other thread is going to a totally different direction, I post this here...
On my side the meter behaves completely different...
The first plugin in the list shows 100% "CPU Percent"...
If I add a second plugin it shows my in this combination: first plugin 60%, second plugin 40%...etc...
Is this normal???
If I close the window, the little Circle shows me 1-2% during playback...

Yes, it's a little confusing now with multiple cores etc.Trancit wrote:The first plugin in the list shows 100% "CPU Percent"...

The circle shows over all time taken to render each block. If you have your block size set to 5.8 ms and it takes 2 ms to render the audio, it'll say: 34%.
In the CPU window it adds up all the time used by each plugin, and then says of that time, what percent is each plugin using?

Since I've only ever heard the term "open chords" used about chords played with open (i.e: unfretted/unfingered) strings on instruments such as guitars and the like, I've tried to find how the term is used for other instruments, such as keyboards.
Google is unusually reluctant to show any other definitions, but I have found a couple of sites (below) that mention it. However, from a coding point of view, there would be far too many different ways to spread or open a chord out to make adding the option workable, especially as it appears that some notes can be repeated or omitted (my feeble keyboard chord style, if it can be honoured with the word, usually consists of firsts and fifths).
