I just finally got around to installing Repro1/5 on my main studio machine.. it's also installed on my laptop that I travel with.

My studio machine is a bit older, but is a quad core i7. I've never had it glitch out under load. Laptop is a newer dual core i7. Both using Reaper.

On my laptop - there seems to be no issue whatsoever, but on my desktop I can consistently make Repro 5 glitch out. What's odd is that the overall CPU use is still low, but ONE of the 8 logicals is getting very high (see attachment).

Is there a setting that will help this?

That one core is probably your main audio rendering thread (RT CPU use in Reaper's performance meter).

That's kind of what I figured.. but was surprised when it wasn't an issue on my laptop.

Any way to tweak this?

This maybe? :)

Whether or not it's better to have it on depends on your host.

hmm.. will check that. I haven't spent a lot of time with it on that machine, so it's possible that I just totally missed it.

I'm going to go over and sit in the corner with my idiot hat on. That was it. Not breaking a sweat now.
